What do you mean by reliable? Security? Service? Something else?

So far, I have found them to provide quite a good service even though some of their items go out of stock especially if they are new releases. They are still a relative small business from what I know. It's based in Richmond Hill, Ontario. it is a retail store that sell a variety of electronics, computer supplies, digital cameras, etc. I think they just opened their second store in Brampton, Ontario.

I have ordered from them on numerous occasions and they will notify you when it is being shipped with a tracking number. In fact, they all come in these security plastic hard cases that you see in stores. I'm not joking. :-P

I tested it the other day to see how many it would take to increase the shipping fee. I put in around 21 Blu-ray titles and it was still $7.99 at the checkout.

I hope they just get Amazon.ca to ship them rather than having to go through customs.

We'll see if it works.
oh it works. i order from .com all the time and never been hit with duty yet. it's the only way to fly IMO. and you can get titles that I just can't find on .ca like Oldboy which just came in the mail yesterday.

I just went over to their store and there is nothing shady about the place. They have an immaculate set-up. After being there today, I will now order online without any worry at all.

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster.

Was just going to buy a couple new Blu's and decided to look at the difference between Amazon (.ca and .com) and Futureshop. Here's what i came up with:

Amazon.com - $50 (Shipping Included)
Amazon.ca - $62 (Shipping Included)
Futureshop - $72 (No Shipping Included)

....all for the exact same movies.

Thank god for the forums on this site and amazon.com and ebay!

I always laugh at these kind of questions [no offense meant]. People are worried about using their CC online, but have no problem having the card leave their sight foe 10 minutes in a restaurant. Credit Cards are a very safe way to shop, most if not all have fraud protection.

If a movie is popular enough, they will run out of it quickly since it's a small business. Small businesses don't order gazillion copies of each movie like Amazon and the other retailers would. Small business owners can't afford to take risks like these.

On the bright side, they do restock new releases on a weekly basis. Since when do you see a small store offering prices like these? I haven't seen any. There are tons of movies on that website that are not out of stock. It's mostly the $9.99 and $12.99 which goes out of stock quickly. They should be commanded for being this competitive to start with.

By the way, The Untouchables is only $16.99 and it's an out of print edition. Not only that, The Searchers is available for only $9.99.

I think the taxes in Canada kill any "good" deals that could be offered.

I have not found a way to get anything decent online to me in Canada other than Amazon.com. Blow Amazon.ca out of the water. I rarely look at .ca other than to see how big the difference is. .com all the way.

How about 'Speed' listed at $14.99 and 'Crash' listed at $14.99?!?!?!

Those are some insane prices for those titles. Until recently I couldn't find those titles brand new for less than $30 on Canadian retail shelves. And even Amazon.com had them listed at $27.95! Now that's a deal!!!

yes sig electronics is a great little shop, i went by there a week ago and got speed for 14.99 lol, and you wont find better deals at any other store, if they are in stock haha. you go in and use there computers and write down what you want and they check you out as if you were buying online except you save 50 cents or so on each item for buying with cash lol.

And you save the $7.99 shipping fee on top of that as well!!!

They need to consider opening a location in Vancouver!

I remember the lip service, last Novermber, about having in stock items work through the system, before we see the same prices as in the United States. Still nothing. If anything, they've figured out how to get their retail prices back up to previous levels, after being beaten down by consumer rage. Nice to see that books, magazines and greeting cards are now showing a single price, but of course not the same price, as the same item in the United States. Blu Ray and HD DVD movies have been stuck at the suggested retail price, since New Years day, with no discounts. Two for $50.00, on catalogue titles is a ripoff and should be ignored. Canadians have such a short attention span and the silence is deafening. I'm going stateside, this weekend, and use those coupons for Dan In Real Life and No Country For Old Men. While I'm there, I'll stop at my PO Box and pick up my Amazon order, since it was shipped free, to that location, in one business day. Screw the Canadian retailers, who don't deserve my patronage!
I totally agree like everyone else with you on certain items (Most). Shopping online cross border is totally worth it! Even after shipping charges and duties (If you get dinged which is quite often not the case) it's still cheaper on most consumer elextronics and media. I bought our DENON 3808CI (home theater pictured on our website) for $500 than a local dealer here would do for me. Taxes duties shipping all factored in. I can wait not to be the first to have something, if I can save some money so I can buy more stuff!

I finished my trip, like I said. My Amazon order was sitting there, at my PO Box. I tried to use the two coupons at the local Walmart, but they wouldn't take them. I took them to Borders, and they would have, but they did not have "Dan In Real Life" in stock. I then tried the local Best Buy. I was fully expecting to get rejected there, becaue these people try every angle to slip off of giving you a discount. I got there and saw that, if you bought "No Country For Old Men and Dan In Real Life", you got a $6.00 discount. I then cheerfully went up and asked them if they would take the intenet coupons. Surprise, surprise, surprise, as quoted by that great 1960's comedian, Jim Nabors. They took the discount off. I got my copies of "Dan and No Country", for $38.00, all taxes in. Also noticed that many of the HD DVD titles, at Walmart, like "Chuck & Larry and Elizabeth the Golden Age, are $17.00 even, for the combo disks. The bastards up here are still charging $39.88. My next shipment, from Amazon.com, now includes "I Am Legend" and the HD DVD "Ray". It amazes me that people would bother to pay $32.88 for these above titles, plus tax. Sheep for sure!

One other bit of business. Gasoline was $3.25.9 a gallon. We are paying $110.9 per litre, here. That works out to around $4.40 a gallon, U.S. Being Canadian is like that Animal House scene, where the Anal fraternity pledges gets their asses paddled and they say, "Thank you Sir, may have another"!
