So I am assuming your items are in your Bedroom?

Sure. We've got one of those entertainment centers with the glass cabinet deal on one side. All the boxes go in there so the remotes can go in there.
I actually don't have scads and scads of gear. No surround sound or anything.

Currently I have a VCR-DVD combo. I managed to have it gone for awhile. My wife wanted it hooked up for the VHS movies that we haven't watched since graduating college anyway. But, it's the only machine that works with the Little Leaps so it's back in the stack. On top of that is the HD DVD player and the Wii. When the PS3 goes home it'll have to go on top Since it's got a Blu-tooth.. oops, blue tooth remote I may just put it behind the TV instead. It'll be awhile before that though.

Mine(ps3) has frozen lately but not with blus but with divx files. how strange! There was no problem with the almost 2 gigabites of files I had copied before.

We have a 46" 1080p Sharp LCD (92 series) and older surround sound 5.1 I think, so 'true HD sound' or whatever doesn't matter....

If that makes any differences

Mine also has NEVER frozen on any movie. The PS3 is one bulletproof piece of equipment. I had it lock on Uncharted tonight but that was just a game glitch, not the machine. I love my PS3.

Your other points I think are quite valid, but IMHO the Samsung players look really sleek, especially the BD-UP5000.
