press STOP prior to EJECT...pressing the EJECT without STOP erases the mark (a good thing 'coz that mark is stored in your HD somewhere)...works for both BD and DVD.

That certainly did work... but that means that I now have to eject every disc straight from playback! That can't be good for the system to cause an abrupt stop like that.

I can't believe that I have actually found something about the PS3 to complain about!!!

how about on the xmb press the triangle and select play from the beginning.

My guess is that they have auto play on so they don't get the chance to choose the play or play from the beginning option.

resume play is automatic. it happens everytime i hit the x button to play. but instead of hitting x, hit triangle, and play from the beginning. just make sure auto play is off so it doesnt start when you put in the disc

Nope. I took full advantage of being able to turn that damn thing off as soon as I could. That made me very . Now if only I could turn that into a with the ability to turn "resume play" off.

Well, at least I know that I don't have to eject the disc during playback now. Triangle + "Play From Beginning" it is.
