Sounds like what he is trying to say (the OP) , is that he is using a sound matrix after the signal is sent to the receiver. The answer would be no, you are not listening to DTS_HDMA because the receiver is tweaking the sound.
The other posters are correct, you dont want to run it as 2 channel. Not sure why you would ever wanna do that really... |

Not a huge deal, but it really doesn't matter that they are. Mine turns them on automatically. But he DOES need to make sure the others ARE.

i think he is using an HDMI cable...cause if he wasn't and was using Optical and set the Audio Output Settings under BD Audio Output Format to HDMI, he wouldn't hear anything from the AV and speakers.

True, was just trying to eliminate the possiblity that the AV was "asking" for 2 Ch even though the PS3 was "offering" to send 5.1/7.1 Ch

I haven't thrown out incorrect information, though. Several things just don't make sense... |

If the PS3 is auto detecting 2 Ch PCM, then thats all he is going to get. He is either using Optical or has a bad PS3 or HDMI cable.

The 605 will NOT display on the receiver that it is playing/decoding a DTS-HDMA track, but if you have your 605 set to Direct, you should hear all the DTS-HDMA goodness. Unless I totally misunderstood something. |
