Thank you! It's from mad Doctor Soran from Star Trek: Generations. It is so very true. in fact, It moved the Soran actor, Malcolm McDowell, so much that he had his watch engraved with the line.

Now I'll admit. When Sleepy Hollow came on it looked REALLY good.

Jurassic Park series were all shot in 1.78:1 which is close to 16:9.

Maybe Spielberg could give this film a scrub over and remove a lot of the EFX gaffes and maybe mix it in 7.1 for a BD release.

Man this movie sounds so sick on DvD.

Imagine a freakin ballzz out PCM mix of the T-Rex screaming his damn fool head off before he snacks on the dude in the outhouse.

I tuned in around 10:30 tonight and saw they were airing JPIII. I thought it looked like crap though. The picture looked "stretched" if that makes sense

I would rather have upconverted quality than what TNT/TBS and probably all Turner HD stations do with stretching the picture it makes anything not actually HD unwatchable.

Rick
They have shown some movies in actual HD and then stretched it on other airings, they also artificially make the sound 5.1 which caused the audio not to sync up with peoples mouths about a second off this was a problem for a few weeks last year. We need more people to email them to stop stretching the picture, they claimed they ran tests and more people preferred the stretching a few years ago, I highly doubt this as most new channels like Sci-fi, USA, etc. don't do this.

HDNet Movies has the best picture quality from what I have and they show everything in OAR.

Its difficult to find an HD 1080p TV thats in 4:3 these days, but well worth the search if you want to see the whole picture.

There classics now. You can most likely find one at an auction. I've seen one sold for $3,000 For a 19in Magnavox

thats why I looked into it a little, I mean like look at football or something that is actually 720/1080 and it looks 1000 times better than the movies that are "hd"

YES! I didn't watch the whole movie on TNT earlier, but I HAD to watch that part, and a while after...but then there was a pop-up ad with (badly) dancing men with the damn jungle and dinosaurs in the background! Truth be told, I was kinda hoping the T-Rex would eat those guys!

Thats exactly what I thought. The faces on the characters seemed too wide, as if the full screen dvd version was was being upscaled to fill the screen. I couldnt bare to watch it, I had to play rock band.

My only beef with TNT HD is that they zoom in to display anamorphic widescreen movies in 16:9.

I must be getting old. I remember watching this film in theaters three times and thinking it was perfection. Now I read some people say, non-verbatum: "maybe they can fix the special effects now, " fix WHAT SPECIAL EFFECTS!!?? It was all perfect to me! Even today when I watch the film on DVD I think the special effects still match anything out there today. I'm craZy??
