Problem solved.

was that worth it? Was that insult worth the three minutes it took you to think up and type?

Camera worse than Blair Witch?

Pass. I'm one of the 27 people who liked the Blair Witch Project, and towards the end I couldn't wait for it to be over because of that camera trick. Couldn't stomach a film that was worse, and I know my wife couldn't handle 10 minutes of it.

Agreed. I am tempted to buy the DVD because I really enjoyed this movie, but I think I'll hold out for Blu. Damn you, JJ Abrams. Grow a pair and demand Blu already.

Hollywood are in trouble if this effort is one of the best monster movies they can produce. It was all hype, zero substance.

Are you serious? This was an EXCELLENT movie. A great monster movie!

All this buzz about camera shake and blah blah blah is absurd. I despise it myself, however I could NOT peel my eyes away from the action. The camera movement and angles had you ducking and contorting your head to see what was around the corner or trying to see that extra little bit that was hidden. It made the viewer pay attention.

It added a certain element to the film that would not have been achievable any other way. Slow and steady does not always win the race

Don't base whether you are going to see this film on the shake. If you do, you will be disappointed. I sincerely hope there is a sequel that lives up to the first film or better.

There are so many un-answered questions that were left. Where did this guy come from? What happened? Are there more? Etc etc

I heard it was a great monster movie, but that shake is a big deal to me. It seems to be the latest 'thing to do' in both TV and cinema, and it's overdone and annoying. I don't want to contort my head to watch anything, I just want to sit and enjoy it.

I will probably give it a rent though, because I do love the 'monster takes over city' genre. Hearing the filming style when it was first released REALLY was a huge dissapointment, as I'm a guy still keeping his fiingers crossed for a Godzilla sequel.

Rent it at least. If you don't like it, then turn it off and say here you did not like it. Please just don't deprive yourself of a film because someone else saw it and did not like it.

Contort was the wrong word. The movie makes you want more sometimes and your mind tries to get it but your eyes can't.

Anyone else notice that in one of the TV ads for the DVD, you can see the Dharma Initiative logo make a quick cameo?

I will wait for the BD version which should be one of Paramounts first BDs since the end of the format war.

I can't wait for the lossless audio as it was the best track in theaters that I have heard this year so far. Luckily for me, my theater is DTS only, and it was awesome, compressed as it may be. The DVD's Dolby track was... bleh; it was even more compressed. Here's to hoping Paramount throws this out at us with a lossless track, yeah?

And gamma is right. The HD trailer on PSN is very good in PQ.

Ok just rented it and watched it. Let's just say I'm not a fan of shaky movies but in this movie it works. It's not as bad as you would think. After about 10 minutes, you accept the fact it's a camcorder based movie. Once you accept that, you can enjoy the movie. This movie really reminded me of the 2 guys who were filming the 9/11 documentary the day the planes crashed. Same kind of tension and got the same feeling. You really get into this movie.

This movie exceeded every expectation I had. I hated the blair witch and can't stand shaky movies or tv series. With that said, this movie was great. I'm not sure how it would look on blu due to the picture style, but it's definitely recommended at least as a rental. You could do alot worse.

With all of that said, I'd like to discuss the ending

[Show spoiler] I like my movies to end and this really doesn't end, the monster wins as far as we can tell. I would have liked to have seen some sort of conclusion but realize it would have been tough since it was a 1st person point of view. Still, why won't hollywood end movies anymore!
