i quickly (finally) bought this on ebay last night, as i realized it is
out of stock at mist online retailers.
guess it must be out of print.

I don't believe Scott B. Smith and Carter Smith are related.

Edit: not only can I find no evidence that they're related the LA Times says there's no relation in their review of the film:

They also grew up in different states.

I enjoyed this one. I'm glad there is an alternate ending included as the theatrical one was kinda bleh.

Best Buy put out a batch of these for $6.99 so I picked one up - great deal for a great horror flick

Actually, kind of like this eco-horror, it was shot on film probably would look nice in a 4K upscaling from the DI and regraded in Dolby Vision. Look what Arrow did with Crimson Peak!

As far as the "dumb teens go off the beaten path and into danger" premise goes, this is one of the better films. This and Turistas, both of which need 4K upgrades.
