I plan on buying Lost when they release seasons 1 & 2. I've followed the shows on Standard Def TV, but cant wait to rewatch the series in 1080p!

I own every 24 season on DVD, and if they ever release in Blu-Ray... I will buy and rewatch.

Same for Heroes.

After I watch a set, it might be years before I watch it again. Typically I'll marathon a show.

I re-watched "Weeds" on Blu, because it has been a long time since I saw the two seasons, and the first time I had to see it dubbed...

It was so HILARIOUS in its original english language!
Season 3 can come now.

Typically, this describes me as well on 1-hour shows... but I have a tendency to re-watch comedies quite often.

My DVD sets of "The Andy Griffith Show", "The Simpsons", "Frasier", "King Of The Hill", "Arrested Development", etc., have gotten MAJOR re-viewing.

So far, Blu-ray hasn't really released any comedies (though "Weeds" might be considered one)... but when they do, I'll pick them up!

I also like to buy sets to catch up on series I've missed ("Mad Men" for example) as I've gotten hooked on a lot of shows that way ("Supernatural", "Smallville", "The O.C.", "Everwood", "Angel", "Firefly", etc.).

I re-watch tv shows they are called Re-Runs sorry I could never see the point in spending money for something that you can see over and over again on tv.

I re watched all of lost (on dvd) and I have to say, the second time watching it was just as great as the first time! you see a lot more. yeah you do know whats going to happen, but you forget a lot of the small conflicts and things that make the show so great. I will def buy the box set when it comes out on blu .

Why are you sorry? Some people just like to buy the series on DVD. I only own X-Files and Curb Your Enthusiasm. As far as X-Files goes, it's cool to see the progression and evolution of the characters as they uncover the vast conspiracy that our government has perpetrated. As for Curb, well if you've seen the show I don't need to tell you it's funny no matter how many times you watch it.
As far as sitcoms, I get what you're saying. Friends, That 70's Show, The SImpsons, all those allow you to drop into the series at any point and not miss a beat, hence the convenience of TNT, FX, and TBS for re-runs.
In the end I can't think of any series except maybe Millennium and Twin Peaks, that I would want to own.

I re-watch LOST aaaalllllllllllllllllllllll the time. I have seasons 1 & 2 on DVD, 3 on BD, and 4 (-1 episode) on DVD+R until the BD is released in December. Everytime a new theory pops into my head, there are at least 2 related episodes I HAVE to watch RIGHT THEN to confirm or disprove my theory.

Other shows I re-watch on DVD because they're funny...like Simpsons, Friends, Arrested Development, Freaks and Geeks, Gilmore Girls, Love Hina, Cromartie High School, etc. If any of these were on Blu-ray, I'd SO buy them in an instant.

Shows like The Simpsons, which I not only have in my DVD collection and want in my BD collection because it's brilliant, because I want to own it and be able to watch it whenever, but also because it has great replay value.

Same. Which is why I don't watch TV shows via a TV signal. Hate watching something then not being able to watch it again whenever.

i recently picked up prison break s1 on blu, and that was incredible to watch again, it was a really good transfer and i did pick up little things that i missed the first time around, so ya i love tv shows on blu, just wished there were more like the sopranos and the x-files, i could start watching the entire series now just in time to catch the new movie in july.

Yeah I'm re-watching the X-Files as we speak in preparation for the movie.
In answer to the original question, a series like the X-Files is a great ride every time you watch it. It has cool MOTW episodes and a great series of mythology episodes that require multiple viewings to decode. Noe, for a show like L&O or Friends, I don't get buying those on DVD or BD. Even something like 24 are probably only good for a single run through. I am waiting for Curb Your Enthusiasm on BD. That's the funniest f***ing show I have ever seen!
But I agree that most series are not worth buying on any kind of disc unless you have never seen them, like Twin Peaks maybe.
