well that posts thread went haywire, Icemans lone post was buried in that mess. You can read the rest of the thread if you like but theres nothing relevent .
We still retain our titles and our posts are visible by clicking the public profile of each member, so they arent really gone.

I personally think it's stupid that post count has been taken away from the forum threads. I'm sorry, but I AM going to see a difference between someone with 2000 posts and someone with 2. The PROBABILITY of them knowing what they're talking aobut IS greater and it DOES tell you something about them, e.g. if they spend way too much time on the forum.

Was such a significant thing changed with everyone in mind, or just a few people who spoke out about it? What exactly was the catalyst for this change?

I demand a POLL please.

quick question? What the heck does a post count being displayed have to do with the quality of the content of this site? People amaze me with their reasoning for this, I havent even gave it any thought

I'll answer your question with a question: why go against such a standard vbulletin forum convention, that everyone's used to (on like 99% of major tech forums), is it some way of dealing with a few "post *****s"?

This "little thing" is a big thing, and I'm not the only one who feels this way. so something must be wrong....no matter what the reason. So sorry, but the quality of this forum just dropped for me.

Unless it's brought back, I won't waste my time browsing new threads, but only keep susbcribed to my favourite threads/forum section (audio section).

Well Pat, I will take ..

STATING THE OBVIOUS

for $1000 please!

Because people LOVE their post counts. It's a "status" symbol and without it - why bother posting. You have nothing to show for it.

I'm glad it is semi hidden. When your post count gets up there, the member's comments come into play when you post sometimes. I wish the entire post count issue did not exist and no posts were ever tallied here at all.

It's a shame, because I've really loved this forum over the years.
And because I do have a nostalgic value attached to it, I'm actually not going to ignore this.

I don't care if this becomes another closed thread, this subject must be raised again and again until it is reversed. Or, until I and others like me, are banned.

It's like you've (not you, the mods) ripped an arm off the thread. Post count is so organic to any forum, and while it's not ON every forum, it has for all this time here, so suddenly taking it away is not something small.

BTW, the members section looks CRAPPITY crap with those two wide columns now.

How do you deal with all the other 99% of forums that DO have a post count? I like the idea that this is a unique forum, and throughout the format war it certainly felt like a haven from war zones such as avs (at the time).

But why not just have an option to hide your own post count? LEt us decide individually?

Honestly, if your that torn up over no post counts being see - then I guess you are better off elsewhere I suppose. However, why would you make such a drastic change over not seeing your post count? Seriously?

Who really cares.

I'll be honest as a child - I feel naked without it. We're suddenly all swimming in the water, floating around.....
actuslly, it feels kinda nice and could be liberating...but REALLY, I'm reacting against it quite badly right now. help!
