Out of my 60+ Blu-rays I only bought 2 in "physical" shops. Price is the main reason, but choice is too. In France Blu-ray is still the new thing and people are cautious and think it's only for the "richer ones".
But in France a newly released DVD is still around 29.99 Euros and a Blu-ray is ... 29.99 Euros too!
My main "purveyors" are DVD.co.uk, Movietyme.com and Amazon.com and uk.
Of course things have changed in shops too : in FNAC (a nationwide multimedia shop, there was only a single 6 lines display, from january it was 3.5/6 Blu-ray, then 4.5/6, then they put the Blu-ray in the long ones with 4 lines everyone will go around (once used for newly released DVDs) so often there are some people looking around - of course there's always someone looking at the one you want to buy .
The only big change can come from the price of the players. Here in shops we still only have the PS3, on French online shops you can find some Panasonic or Sony.

Cool Any one else?

Does any one else miss being an Elite Schmuck? I was going to start a thread with a poll to ask, but nah. Only elite schmucks start polls.

It's good to have more people browsing the blu-ray section but it is a little annoying. Kind of feels like someone being in "my space".

BUMP. I want to see how things have changed since this thread started.

Come September you will probably have to squeeze in the blu-ray isle. Sigh... the elite schmucks lament.

I know. I told my boss The Godfather collection was coming out, he was looking at players the next day. He would be the third person that has gone Blu in my department since I have. That is my entire department, must say something about the format.....
