Default Sony silent on "Heavenly Sword 2 canned" rumour.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com....php?id=191159

Word on the street is that development on Heavenly Sword 2 has been axed after 6 months into the development stage.

CVG contacted Sony UK today, but they were given no comment.Kotaku also suggested that tensions have built up between Sony and Ninja Theory, after Ninja moved to a new location outside of the Sony Cambridge building.

If this is true, then this makes Heavenly Sword 2 the third game to be axed by Sony this month.

Heavenly Sword is one of the best games released on the PS3 so far. It sounds like Sony was financing Ninja Theory. Without Sony NT will probably get investments elsewhere. Sounds like they already got their own building.

I hope it's not axed...I enjoyed Heavenly Sword...a bit short, but definitely an entertaining game and an example of only the beginning of what the PS3 can do...

I think this is old news. Ninja Theory announced a while back that they wouldn't be doing a Heavenly Sword sequel. I think most of us (that want a sequel) are hoping Sony will pick it up.

Edit: The discussion on this started at this post: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...0&postcount=45 in the Heavenly Sword 2 thread from a while back. Edit 2: It provides the link that Elandyll provided.

I think the guy who wrote this article might need to double check his sources.

1) There has been no official confirmation of a Heavenly Sword 2, only rumors, some including a guy instead of our good ol Red hair Beauty.

2) Ninja theory has publicly said that they were through with Exclusives, and that they were now going multi-platforms only.
They used their first title (sponsored by Microsoft) to get their gears going on Xbox platforms, and then used their second title (Heavenly Sword, sponsored by Sony) to shape up on the new PS3 platform.
They have basically admitted using sponsored exclusives to get to know well both types of platforms, and are now going to do multi only.

3) They have admitted that Heavenly Sword is a Sony owned property (Intellectual Property), so they are out of the game as far as Heavenly Sword goes, unless Sony would agree to a 360 release (yeah right ).

So this article is BS based on old rumors

We do not even know if a new studio is working or not on a HS2...
