All Blu's and HD-DVD is 1080p right now and they still release in that format.
So when do you think they will start releasing in 1280p

I would buy 2 copies of Batman Begins if the Blu exhibits more than 720p details.

How so?

A fuzzy disc like Batman Begins looks the same when downscaled to 720p and then upscaled back to 1080p, but a Blu-ray with true 1080p detail like Kingdom of Heaven loses details.

Seems like a logical test to see if the picture isn't very detailed to me.

The HD DVD transfer of Batman Begins was heavily filtered by WB that was devoid of all high frequency details. It simply doesn't contain more than 720p details. Period.

Somehow I'm picturing Nicholas Cage in a Superman suit (a movie that if made would have made Singer's look like the greatest movie ever made)... but I digress!

With respect to TTUBatfan2008, I have to wonder what some people see. BB was alright on HD DVD. It was an improvement over the DVD for sure... but it wasn't in NT (or NT2's) league in my book.

Still... I have it pre-ordered, as I love the film and I'm glad to have the best presentation I can get of it (for now)...

Less than 3 weeks away now!! I cannot wait. I have been jonesing for Batman Begins ever since I sold all my HDDVD's when Warner dropped the blu-ray bomb.

What a shameless cover art by WB which says extras presented in High Definition and Standard Definition but the only extra which will be available in HD is the Dark Knight Trailer.

I think I'm more annoyed by them not including the USB key with the Blu boxset, even though it's more expensive than the crap SD edition.

Actually the whole opening scene for The Dark Knight will be on there and presented in high definition. So your basically getting a look at what The Dark Knight will look like on Blu-ray.

But is the "prologue" in the movie when its released. i have heard its somekind of teaser for the movie. like "24" does on the seeason DVD's.

It's an actual scene from the movie. To be more specific it is the scene where

It is 6 minutes in length. It also contained various quick shots from the film after the scene was over but I don't know if they will keep that in or not.

Nothing, according to Warner. I still can't believe they didn't bother to re-do Batman Begins specifically for Blu-ray. Pathetic, lazy effort on Warner's behalf.

I've heard from reliable sources that Christopher Nolan was directly involved with the Blu-ray, and has given it his approval. So while the image quality may not be all it could be, it is enough to satisfy the main creative force behind the film, and frankly that's good enough for me.
