Duck Hunt. NES.
Pitfall may have been first, but I don't remember since I was only 5 when I got my NES.

Probably an Atari 2600. Pacman is the first I can remember, though also the fantasy game where you were a square and you hold the "sword" and a dragon comes, etc.

I remember playing my neighbors Intellivision and still have the Coleco in the rafters. Phone like controllers are long gone but I remember a few years back discovering that the Sega Genesis controller worked in them, amusingly enough. Use the D-pad in place of the number pad (left is 1, up is 2 or something to that effect)... First game was probably Donkey Kong which came with it IIRC.

My first console was the N64. I had Super Smash Bros, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Super Mario 64, Mario Party, Yoshi's Story, and a bunch of others I can't remember. I still have my N64 and most of the games too

Looping on Colecovision. I think my mom sold that console at a garage sale for $5.00, then we got a Nintendo the following Christmas (1989). Probably one of my favorite Christmases ever, is that bad?

Smash Bros. Brawl is a legit reason to own a Wii, in my opinion.

My first system was the Atari 2600. We had to wait until it got marked down to $50 on sale at K-mart before my Mom would buy it. It came with Pac-man and Combat, my brothers and I played it for hours.

Prior to that, my uncle actually had a system that was basically Pong. You changed the settings with toggle switches on the console itself. If you had two dashes bouncing the dot back and forth, it was called tennis. If you had 4, it was called hockey IIRC.

At the age of 5, I had an Atari 26 and played Pac Man on it first. Along with Moon Patrol and Adventure, though with Pac Man I always preferred arcade, which I first played at the age of 3. The 26 was eventually retired, and I've had a whole truckload of games since then (see sig).

Pac Man or Asteroids on my cousins 2600. Ahh the good ol' days! Actually now that I have a 360 and a PS3, the "Good Ol' Days" don't seem so good!

I thought I was going to be one of the only older players here. There are more Atari users than I thought would be. Oh right. I played the 2600 when I was about 4 and kicked the shit out of my dads friends. My dad told me that he would bet his friends that I could beat them in games. I did not know this until later in my life but that was cool. I wonder how much money( or other things) my dad won.
I remember the 5200 being the coolest thing, it was HUGE. wow, how far games have come.

Not sure what a "console" consists of.... First I ever "owned" was an Xbox 360, which I purchased to keep at my place for my Wife's brother to play when he visits (they live close by)

Now I have 2 PS3's and no 360.....

First I played.... again.. not sure if it's a "console" but I had a Commodore 64, but before then, it was a colecovision thingy... and some sort of Atari....

never owned a nintendo Played the NES, Super NES, and N64 in college because my roommates all had them at one point in time.... my friend growing up had a Sega Genesis I think.... and another kid in college had a Dream-cast.... so I've played a few different ones, but never really felt the need to own them.

I lost $100 the first week of college betting a buddy that he couldn't get past level 100 on Tetris..... he got to like 140 or so I think.... FIRST TRY! I'll never forget the "castle" or whatever it was blasting off.... as I forked over my money

He started on level 9, and I asked him why... and he said the other levels go too slow, and make him tired!!!! I had never seen Tetris played like that before!!!!!!

Since I've had my PS3 I've played Joust and Q*Bert more than the actual games released for it. I wish they would put more classics out for download.

Actually my first console game was Atari Pong. One of hte previous posts reminded me. It was a wood veneer console with the actual knobs built into it, no joystick! My dad bought my brother and me the game and a 13" B&W TV for Christmas one year. Wow, how far we have come!
