On the other hand, by your own words it seems like you expected it to be a tie in between the movies and you just expected something else out of the product where as if it had come out earlier this year and the Dark Knight was not in everyone's minds then you could see it and appreciate it as a stand alone Batman release.
But it is all moot, people can like or dislike whatever they want though I do tend to have more desire to call out those who feel the need to speak for others.
I tend to agree with Ookie...I've found over the years many, many movies I loved or liked, and everyone else ripped to shreds (as well as CD's, books, etc.). I always attributed the phenomena to other's expectations being too high (or their self-important standards), or my expectations being held in check. That's why I, and everyone else, I think, enjoyed Iron Man so much... no one knew what to expect.

To the people that didn't like it : Was there not enough action for you, or was it story driven but boring?

Actually I never said I expected it to be a tie in.. I did say however, "If you're expecting a connection to any of the live action films you'll be highly disappointed". As a waring to others with such expectations. In fact I was quite aware this had nothing to do with the films. So if you're implying my expectations were misguided I assure you they were not.

I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to here.. As I only gave my personal opinion.. You seem to have a need to disregard my opinion due to my expectations. But the only problem with that logic is simple, I had no specific expectations other than for it to be well made.. Also you've been very defensive about a film which you yourself have not even seen.. Seems like you're the one with pre-existing expectations about this film.. But it is all moot.

Wow im really surprised people some people didnt like this. I didnt like the 3rd story/chapter. I hated how they designed Bruce and the Bat suit in that one. The story was not interesting either. But the rest I liked.

I didn't see it yet, but I can tell you that if I don't like it must be because I'm not so fond of Robert Downey Jr. (smug and cocky SOB).

I would have preferred Tom Selleck. The videogame alreay left a bad taste in my mouth.

As for Gotham Knight, I've only seen the first "episode' and I'm disappointed already. It looks like it wants to be an artsy-fartsy kinda movie

I agree. I thought it was going to be better than that but it wasn't. I knew it wasn't going to be a whole movie but still...I was expecting more judging by the trailer.

I would have bought this even if it was terrible but I canceled my pre-order the minute I found out Warner once again left off the lossless audio track.

I'm not too much into the Batman animation, but I'll get Batman Begins.

I just finished watching this. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and will probably watch it again in the next few days. I'm actually surprised there aren't a bunch of threads about it, as a lot of the segments have quite a bit of grain added to them. Overall the PQ is quite good. It doesn't have the pop that Justice League does, but it's not the same style. Audio, for DD, is quite good as well. Worth the 22 bucks, I think.

How did it not fit in with the live action movies? It refferences what Scarcrow did to the narrows numerous times. Jim Gordon is still a Luitentent not a comissioner yet. Batmans outfit and ability to glide seems to be in sink with the Nolan version as no previous Batmans have had this ability. The newly formed major crimes unit mentioned in Gotham Knight will also be part of The Dark Knight. Also I read the black cop from crossfire will be in The Dark Knight. Gotham Knight is very much in continuity with Chris Nolans movies.

Overall I liked the movie. The animation is awsome, the stories are good, and the writing is smart. By far the movies biggest flaw is its length. This movie needed an extra 20-30 minutes of run time to properly tell its story and at the much to short 70 minutes (excluding credits) it feels very rushed and many elements underdevolped. With more length this could have been excellent as it is I would say its a good effort but I can understand dissipointment

Id give it a B-

Just finished watching. The stories seemed to get better as they progressed, but there still seemed to be something missing. I'd still give it a B though. The animated Wonder Woman preview in the special features section looks promising.

I just got the DVD version of this and after watching it, it doesn't seem like the blu version would have enhanced the picture quality that much to make a difference. Saved $12!!!

My kid watched and he liked. Now Batman Begins on Blu was awesome!!

It wasn't horrible, just not worth the $20 to $30 for the blu version. Just the regular DVD is more then enough in this situation.

I watched it last night. Pretty short- only an hour and a half. I will preface this by saying that I enjoy anime and animation. I enjoy the Animatrix, which is comparable to this in the form the stortelling goes.

While I can say there were a couple segments I did like, overall I thought this was ok at best. The animation was pretty mixed in style and they obviously had free reign to animate it how they wanted. There was still consistency in the characters' overall looks and their voices were the same actors.

There are some really nice featurettes on the Batman franchise and characters/villians. There's a neat sneak peak into the Wonder Woman animated movie that actually looks pretty decent.

However, I can't recommend this as a purchase. The 5.1 lossy soundtrack is kind of weak- there isn't much use of the rears at all. This could've been a 2.1. The stories aren't that strong and don't use any of the major villians from the Batman mythos.

Its starting to sound like this feature would of been better suited on the Batman Begins Limited Edition Gift Set compared to a stand-alone release.
