DVD Piracy still on the rise?

We won't get into the whole straight to disc from camcorder or editing THEN to Blu-ray Disc thing.

but its not a true high def transfer that way Might as well do it from a dvd

One of several software applications I have at my disposal.
Camcorder or HD camcorder straight to BD-R/RE.
Or, import to HDD, edit, then burn to BD-R/RE.
I can also import from a HD DVR and burn to BD-R/RE.

We aren't supposed to talk about BD to BD here...

you cant copy BD to BD though as they are coded? Besides,arent those 50G or even 25G BDs cost like $8-10 a piece?
Might as well buy the BDs.

We are now living in the digital era. It's different with DVD and other digital formats, it varies, but you can make a perfect copy if you choose to not re-compress it. Now, if we were talking about the quality of blank discs, then that's a different argument. Some blank discs may not last long since they are not sealed like they are in the factories.

Correct on both fronts I was refering to compression (that people who make disc encounter - people who just put them on the HDD - no compression at all). Physical disc quality also plays a part - Good comments +1!!!
