Ohh im sure, just saying it's the cheapest it's going to get. Cheap enough that if they do another I won't mind rebuying.

25th Anniversary?
Wouldn't that merit an update and upgrade in quality?
Or maybe they re-release it with Young Guns II?

That might be a reason. Hopefully we will get both of them done properly.

Part II is with WB, so a double feature seems unlikely--unless LG wants to give it up (like they did with Terminator 2 and Memento).

I really enjoy these films so I'd be willing to double dip for a better transfer.

Ok so I am either getting the UK release or the french one. However I can't tell the difference, can someone help? According to the thread here the UK release has a better transfer but is on 5.1 HR however the back of the box states it's lossless. So which one has the better quality?

The UK has lossy audio. French has the highest bitrate, lossless audio and is a BD 50 BUT it's region-locked.

However, the German one has lossless audio and all the extras.

Paramount doesn't own it. WB does.

Thank you so much however I must ask if you are sure about the UK version. On the back of the box it does have lossless listed and even the blu-ray.com listing says it is. Also do the French and German version have the same transfer? Im region free so coding doesn't matter, I just want the best version.

I must warn you, you will still see jaggies in the UK version. I purchased it based also on what I saw on this site. I do regret getting it, as I was expecting a stellar transfer over the US release. I can not speak for the German or French Blu's

sure I know, but remember Paramount is licencing out WB titles. So perhaps YG II will be part of that.

Nope. The other way around. WB is licensing out Paramount titles.

Same here. I bought the LG disc for $5 and sold it after I saw how bad it looked.

Yuck.

I don't think there's been a "great" version...but I have the german release. It's got all the extras and lossless audio. That's the only release thus far, as far as I know.
