Default Reservoir Dogs, Young Guns and Rambo at some BB's already

I would call BB stores before going to buy these LG titles early...but some BB's have these for sale already for 24.99.

I thought Young Guns was postponed, I'll have to add that one quickly to my collection. Love westerns. Might grab Rambo too and sell off my dvd. Been doing alot of that lately.

Wow...BB can get a financial penalty for that from the studios. Not cool to put an item on the shelf before the official release date...but that wouldn't stop me from buying Reservoir Dogs early!

It's likely you won't be able to buy them even if they're on the shelves. Once you bring it to the counter, they will keep it because the computer will tell them that it's not for sale.

However, Wal-Mart.... no problem. They don't keep inventory in their computers.

Just picked up Reservoir Dogs and American Psycho. And let me tell you, the Blu-ray shelves were messy, picked through, and generally looked as if they had been hit by a mob. Disgusting! The HD DVD side was so clean and orderly, almost as if it was the same as when they stocked the shelves this morning and no one was touching them.

Oh that is just so sick.

By the way JBl, how's your SACD experience with the PS3? Growing or kinda stagnant?

Best Buys computer doesn't do that, but Circuit City's does.

Fuad, what I meant was that the Blu-ray section looked like it was getting a lot of attention, and the HD DVD section was not. Subtlety doesn't come over well on the internet, unfortunately.

Growing. In the last month, I've bought 4 more SACDs, and I've got several more in my wish list.

If its on the shelves at Best Buy they sell it, I got my Sony BDP S1 4 days before they were on the shelves by just asking if they had one in the back. Only downside was paying full price.

Off-topic...I am more of an audiophile than a videophile and have a couple hundred SACDs in my collection. Much of it is classical and jazz recorded in the '60s and '50s. I am familiar with most SACDs out there and can offer recommendations either way on any particular title you may be wondering about. I haven't explored multichannel SACD on the PS3 because I am unable to use the HDMI connector. I briefly toyed with getting Sony ES preamp that would let me do the connection, but I'm happy with my Audio Refinement pre and don't feel like dropped $1500 on a possibly worse-sounding pre. Besides, the audio performance of the PS3 is probably not comparable to the SCD-1, which I use to spin SACDs.

There are a lot of good titles out there and they're well worth picking up even though the format died on the vine.

First Blood, not "Rambo" damn it!

But can't wait - one of my favs of all time.

I hope Lionsgate does an excellent job on this title...it better be a Tier 1 atleast!

The engineers that worked on SACD did the work for the PS3's SACD decoding. According to a report, that's the toughest nut they had to crack on the PS3. It's up to 5.1 196kHz now (I believe) and it'll get better with further upgrades. Via HDMI, there is no DAC. It all depends on the receiver/preamp.

Oddly enough last week at Circuit City I picked up Beerfest a couple days before official release. At least I assume I did as I understood it's release date to be the 30th and this was the 27th.

Yeah, that's it! PS3, SACD and HDMI works like a charm! Sounds great too. Is there a Michael McDonald Motown 3 in the works?
