That's a vexed question i.e. only you can answer it. You shouldn't expect someone else to know how much improvement you heard (or will hear) and what that improvement is worth to you in cost.

I think I listened to them before, but it's been awhile, and not in a "comparative" setting..... so I don't know is my answer.

In my honest opinion i would say no, its kind of like the RTi A1 and A3's. All it is is just another woofer. The tweeter is still the same. But you do get a lower frequency range. But it all comes down to if you hear a difference or want to pay the difference. I was also in the same boat as you trying to decide between the 7's or 9's but went with the 7's. They are plenty. I mean I crank those babies up and they still sound like they want more. Plus if you want to save yourself tons of money, on ebay Polk Audio has a store and you can buy refurbished ones from Polk itself with the same warranty but for only like $300-$400. Im actually bidding on another pair now haha. Hope this helps

Hard pressed at what price point . The Aperion's are great speakers, but he has an $800.00 budget for bookshelf speakers - I don't think he plans on "settling" - I think he will try and get everything 800.00 will give him (Even though the 6b's make a great statement at $700.00).

How about these bookshelf speakers by Swan on sale right now:

http://www.theaudioinsider.com/produ...products_id/69

At $499 on sale when they are normally priced $900 make these as good as a deal I've seen in a while. The Swan D2.1SE bookshelf speakers have awesome build quality and sound great for the price.

check out the PSB Image B25's... (PSB is a Canadian company, the parent company also owns NAD and Energy) they're not the best you can buy, cause they're only around the $300-$400 range. But they perform way above their price class. Comparable to the Paradigms.

Very comparable to Paradigm indeed. My old company sold Paradigm - why did we get Paradigm? To have a line to compete against a company across town who carried - you guessed it PSB's. I enjoy both companies speakers.

P.S. to hagar852 I truly believe your Aperion's may become the next PSB or Paradigm - I see why you push them

Mordaunt-Short You may like bookshelf speakers from this company. Always read good reviews and it's something different too.

If you are willing to stretch your budget a bit and do some leg work, you might find a set of JM Labs Cobalt 806s. They retailed for $1400 a pair but have been discontinued and i have heard that some dealers have stock left that can be had for well less than $1000 a pair. I have a set that i use as surround speakers and these are truly outstanding speakers that are better than what most people use in the front. If no longer around they make other really good bookshelves at several price points.
