This news is several years old. No one needed a close source to have known about this since 2004, all they needed was TheForce.Net.

This has been talked about so much. I remember fisrt hearing about the older movies being turned into 3D. This was back in 96 or 97.

wasn't this + the TV shows his supposed excuse for not having the time to do a blu-ray transfer?

yeah 3D movies are a gimmick, just look at that journey to the center of the earth movie. i can't believe a lot of critics were giving it good reviews.

i wish they would come out on blu-ray soon. i have been waiting for the "ultimate" star wars collection to come out. i have refused to buy any of the dvds until something like that comes out.

Whatever, your all complaining about him releasing more star wars films but yet if you were in his shoes and could make more money you would do the same. there will always be money to be made in the star wars franchise. he has been doing it for over 30 years now.

if you had the same chance are you saying you would not want to make more money? i think not. thats like saying you dont want to make more money at your job or career you have now

At one point there's not going to be a single pixel that's related to the original film negatives

I heard about this back in 2005, after Episode III came out. I forgot all about it. I'm glad Lucas is still going through with it.

your right i would, i would be creating new content that adds to the star wars universe.

i wouldn't keep remastering and adding stuff that detracts from the greatness of my original works.

i don't mind 3D though, just cut the crap out with CGI jawas flying acroos Mos Eisley, because a CGI bantha farted in their face.

This wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. He will try to stretch it to the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars in 2017.

His early work was awesome, I absolutely love THX-1138, American Graffiti, ANH, TESB, Raiders, even ROTJ.

But his recent work just isn't up to par with what he used to do and Im not the only way who feels this way.

Its one thing to simply not make as good of movies as you used to, its another thing, when the man is litterly going back and ruining his classics.

South Park addressed this issue, so it is important.
