This thread is now 16 years old It's always fun to revisit these old threads if only to see who is no longer active. I wonder where those people who started the thread and got it going are now. This is my 11th year on here and I'm still going as strong as ever (to the detriment of some members lol).

I rewatched Deja Vu a couple of years ago and still enjoyed it immensely. It's just a fun sci-fi flick that belonged to a relatively recent but now already largely gone filmmaking era. It's the kind of movie one tends to fall back on when nothing else good is available. And, yes, get yer copies while you can folks before Disney accomplishes their goal of obliterating physical media.

It’s also funny to see how many folks these days are crying about the price of 4k uhd releases, most of which are multiple-disc sets and roll out between $19 and $29, when these old threads remind us that stand-alone blu rays like this often rolled out on release day at $25-$35……way back in 2007.

Just placed an order of a copy.

It's been a few years since I last checked the movie out. I remember being thoroughly entertained by the whole movie. Denzel Washington X Tony Scott (RIP) was such a dynamic actor/director duo back in the day.

Agree 101%

I just ordered Déjà Vu on Blu-ray myself today. I have not watched it since it came to the theaters in college.

I feel like Ridley is trying to capture some of that Tony/Denzel magic with Gladiator II.

Déjà Vu is now featured on the Criterion Channel for December 2024.

In fact, the whole series of films they are promoting is called Déjà Vu?

https://www.criterionchannel.com/dej...deja-vu-teaser

Stop me if you think you’ve seen this one before . . . Cinema has an inherent ability to reshape time and, in the hands of a master filmmaker, temporality itself can become a unique means of immersive, brain-rewiring storytelling. Featuring looping timelines, fragmented memories, and alternate “butterfly effect” versions of events, these films—which encompass science fiction (12 Monkeys), psychological thrillers (Memento), and surreal mind-benders (Mulholland Dr.)—have the power to make us rethink our very perception of reality.

FEATURING: Vertigo (1958), La Jetée (1963), Blind Chance (1981), 12 Monkeys (1995)*, Run Lola Run (1998), Donnie Darko (2001), Memento (2000), Mulholland Dr. (2001), Mind Game (2004), Déjà Vu (2006), The Beast (2023)
