I have Cox cable in Oklahoma and the HD is actually quite good, even the sound is pretty good for cable.

On the Olympics only channels it's really good (Olympics Soccer and Olympics Basketball channel)

All of the Olympic HD channels on FiOS in Florida look very good.

Glad to hear you got your issues worked out!

Default Opening Ceremonies...

I think the very theatrical Opening ceremonies would b pretty bangin on Blu ! My TimeWarner box is broadcasting pretty smoothly .

Off topic .... Whats this I hear ,I may get worse PQ if I hook this Scientific Atlanta up HMDI ! I already bought the HDMI ,was just waiting till I do re-model this weekend before changing over . I get very good PQ now, don't wanna screw it up . Anyone know if this is fact ?

I'm loving these events in HD.

It seems like whenever I turn on UniversalHD though they have boxing.

I think they are eternally boxing on my UniversalHD =(

I hope they cover the BMX freestyle more this time around.

DirecTv HD was awesome, there was a little bit of breakup during the diving, but for the most part, was looking fine

I was back home this weekend and was watching the Olympics at my mom's place. They have Comcast HD and there was a ton of macroblocking and compression.

I went home and watched it through Time Warner and it was much better. There's still compression that's pretty evident but not as bad.

It depends on the carrier, and Comcast is well-known for over-compression.

UniversalHD is showcasing Boxing but has other events also (I like boxing ) it was a trip to see the guy from the Bahamas just bloody the boxer from Grenada! Oh and Great Britian's Billy Joe Saunders reminds me of a slower Roy Jones (as far as boxing style)

yeah i have been watching the olympic channels in the 800's there was still major pixelation etc, but i just forced my cable box to output to 720p instead of 1080i, things have cleared up really well. My tv supports full 1080p but for some reason 1080i looks like crap on it
