While I have absolutely no interest in The Beatles, I can respect them. Anybody who sells albums like that and are as popular, you can't do anything but respect them. As for me, I'm totally into Alter Bridge. There may be more technically proficient guitarists (let me once again stress the 'maybe'), but nobody can fit a solo into a song the way Mark Tremonti can. Listen to Blackbird. There's actually two solos morphed into one. The first half is by Myles Kennedy, the singer/guitarist, and the more 'shredding' one is by Mark. Nothing gets me pumped up like a Mark Tremonti solo.

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker.

NSFW link.

For a more mainstream song that a lot of people will have heard on nights out try this:

Aphex Twin - Girl/Boy Song

Not great quality, but you can't really expect too much from youtube...

You ever listen to Captain Beefheart?

edit: I'm really curious as to what Polyethnic Slam-Grass is. Some weird genres these days.
For the most part i like classical, modern composers, avant-garde rock/noise/experimental weirdness, old country, old jazz, old blues, and scratch heavy rap, but i cannot stand tejano music. I think that's what it's called. My coworkers arrive at 5am blasting this horrible music at 100db.
Boom-chic-chic
Boom-chic-chic
then some horrible accordian followed by the same sounding old fart pining for his lost love. Nails on chalkboard for me, but i had to vent that.

Poll is also mutiple choice.

Well, I listen mostly to pop, country, and contemporary Christian music, with the occasional "mild rock" album thrown in. An example of the latter would be something like 3 Doors Down, in my opinion.

As for artists, I don't have a lot of "all-time faves", but a few include Rascal Flatts, Michael W. Smith, Backstreet Boys, and Michael Jackson. I also like OneRepublic, Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Amy Grant as well.

Sadly though, much of what was once called "pop" just sucks nowadays; its become so hyped-up, ultra-sexualized, and generally disheartening I can barely stand it anymore. For example, I really liked Britney Spears' first CD, but after that she went off the deep end; the same holds true for Christina Aguilera. Basically, I'm against the majority of "pop princess" stuff these days, although I did like Miley Cyrus' song "The Climb". Taylor Swift has done very well IMO, for the most part, but I don't have either of her CDs yet.
