Yeah I know, I'm such a noob with all this technical stuff while all of you are MacGyvers at this. A lot of you must've graduated from Adams College while I graduated from The School of Hard Knocks. I'll look more into the Arcam receiver to correct myself.
That's because we are all laughing at your reaction. Your assessment seems quite fair!!

Ahh, but have you ever seen an Arcam perform? It is pure bliss. I don't think I ever saw an SD DVD player look so "film like", especially for the money......the sound (DTS of course) is awesome, and if you're into buying R2 Japanese DVDs, it plays them back beautifully!! I have a few such discs that sport English DTS that their North American counterparts don't.
And don't forget, you also get SACD and DVD-Audio in Arcams. Furthermore, these also happen to be some of the very best sounding CD/SACD/DVD-A players -- all in one fine piece!

Arcam and Bose just aren't even close to being in the same market. I would be shocked if ever found somebody in this world that had an Arcam amp or receiver connected with Bose speakers.

That said, I almost bought the ARcam 350 receiver last year but decided on Rotel separates as a better way to be able to upgrade the processor in the future to something that supports HDMI audio. And I already changed that to a NAD processor.

But I am guessing the Arcam receivers and processors will mostly be bought up by people that are 90% into music that also want a HT system without compromising the sound.

Guess what, folks? I was DEAD ON right about the price of the forthcoming Arcam FMJ AVR600 receiver.
Landing in November (well, on the other side of the pond, anyway), the price for this baby is 2,300 pounds. Translated into US dollars, today it came out to be $4,033.60. I said it would cost $4000 here in the states!!!
