LOL!
At the local BestBuy, the HD DVD section is always fully stocked, yet the Blu-ray section shows signs of "activity" - as in, movies are less populated.

Love my VAIO and BD drive!

It's not like MS didn't have problems when the 360 launched, both in available stock and quality of product. It took half a year before I was able to get one and then I had to return it for another because it crashed continuously. The second one did the same - third time was the charm I guess .

Anyhow, PS3's are trickling in a few per week at BB these days so I managed to pick one up the other day. They're slow to get around but people have to be buying them since they're gone the next day. I got the last one the day I nabbed mine. They're definitely sparse.

What's even more amazing is that these same people will justify a $300 plus video card and $3000 dollar gaming PC's. Do you ever see articles saying PC games should only be made that cater to low end machines? Never. Every year or two it is time to upgrade a PC for a simple game.

PS3 is an incredible machine and it's selling well around the world just why they hates Sony.Because at the end it's a SONY.

Anyway another criteria for this insane about Sony,is the increasing of BD movies by 3:1 or by 4:1 or i dont know what else BD is winning by every measure of whatever they are saying ,they are just declaring war now because they are loosing.Already i live in middleeast i have four games and 7 BD movies just why they are insane about Sony

You guys mention Hd-dud fanboys getting nervous... so is Toshiba if you ask me. I read an article (I think at DVD town) that Toshiba has upped their free hd dvd offer to 5 free movies until end of July. They're getting desperate because they can see the light and its BLU as in Blu-ray... I can't believe so many people can't see their nose in front of their face.

Base on game consoles history provided by Videogame Charts (VGcharts).

It will sell like hotcakes every December, this is only one month most consoles that sold more than any months each year.

It is based on America, USA only. Because I am from USA.

Let take look at PS2 history of month that they sold ps2.

Oct 2000: 453,500
Nov 2000: 214,000
Dec 2000: 642,250
Jan 2001: 274,250

Nov 2001: 1,005,250
Dec 2001: 2,121,750
Jan 2002: 399,750

Nov 2002: 1,433,250
Dec 2002: 3,340,500
Jan 2003: 548,000

Nov 2003: 911,250
Dec 2003: 2,423,750
Jan 2004: 385,250

And it goes on every year as number decrease but keep selling over million units in month of December until next generation console come in and current generation will decrease as next genration consoles start increase every year during Holiday time (November and December).

Most of game consoles selling it well during December during game console lifespan. Some does not sell well in December, like Xbox 360 have some woe of short supply in Dec 2005.

Which consoles did not spike their profits in their launch year in December before it become more common year after year that they make alot of profits during December:
Xbox (2001)
Xbox 360 (2005)
Gamecube (2001)

PS3 sold in USA, America:

Nov 06: 222,250
Dec 06: 537,750 PS3 is not "Short of supply" like Xbox 360 went through)
Jan 2007: 275,500

Xbox 360 sold in USA, America:

Nov 05: 357,250
Dec 05: 303,500 (Short supply woe)
Jan 06: 269,000

Nov 06: 587,250 (Have enough supply)
Dec 06: 1,320,250
Jan 2007: 332,250

Wii sold in America, USA:

Nov 06: 538,500
Dec 06: 704,750
Jan 07: 485,000

Here in America, you will see a big spike of PS3 sold by November and huge spike in December this year.

As of now, all millions unit will not able to be sold in months until November and December. Most game consoles can surpass 1 millions bar sold in December.

http://www.vgcharts.org/aconscomps.php
America, you can compare your favorite game consoles.

So my point is that Sony PS3 will countiune selling it at 200,000 to 650,000 until November and December. They will sold over one million PS3 during Holiday.

----------------------------------------------------------------
I am not bleep nervous because I am neutral for almost 2 years, I love both formats. I am happier camper. They did not launch until last year. I keep my own words that I will buy both formats since May 2005.

HD DVD people who don't support Blu-ray, they can be nervous.

Hey, Blu-ray people, you are wonderful, humble, and you have given me some respect. I appreciate it and I am glad to be part of Blu-ray forums to share my High Definition experience.

I have to make some announcement.

I have keep saying that I will buy Playstation 3 sometime this year on some forums, here and another forums. Unfortunely, there is a bit of change in my plan. There will be no playstation 3, I have abandon it as part of my plan.

Fear not,
I am happy to say that I am still planning to get Blu-ray player, it will be Sony Blu-ray player. It can be Sony BDP-S300. I am expecting to have Blu-ray player by Q4 2007. I only want Blu-ray player, not game console.

My HD(Both formats) collections will countiune to grow this year.

It will be largest collection of Blu-ray movies when I get player. It is now holding record set of pre-launch # movies that I have in my HD collection library.
I current have 20 Blu-ray movies.

I call it pre-launch because I do not have player. This is my way to buy products before I get player.

Have a good day, enjoy your High Defintion movies!

May the best one win the format war.

One of the major appeals of consoles is their stability. That's why I bought a console 5 years ago in the first place. But MS intends to create a treadmill in the console market .. hence another xbox coming before the paint is even dry on the first one - because they need to feed their machine at your expense..they will call it "progress" but it is just the same crap re-packaged.

MS is a marketing company not a technology company...once you realize that it explains just about everything they do. They can't compete on technology and even their spin machine is losing it's grip, becoming more shrill every day over the train-wreck called Vista and most of their other overpriced products.

Ironically the original Xbox was their last bright spot but then the marketing guys took over and threw away their lead by issuing the 360 before it was ready..and soon they will spend tens of millions to get you to buy it all over again. And those same sockpuppets that are screaming about the PS3 will switch their story to how paying out again for another 360 is worth it and "good" value. Then incompatibilities will slip in and core, then premium will be made obsolete in short order.

Same people that switch positions about how paying $200 for Xbox on-line in the next 5 years is worth it but paying $50 more for PS3 with blu-ray, built-in re-chargables, free on-line, web browser, incredible build quality etc, etc. isn't.

No integrity or credibility.

Also take note that at best buy in Canada...

Vista Ultimate UPGRADE $300
Office 2007 Ultimate UPGRADE $700

Save your money by using

Linux $0
OpenOffice $0

and use the money to buy a loaded PS3 plus a bunch of games - Priceless.

Same people that are yammering on about the PS3 being expensive are the same ones telling you that you really want the ultimate versions of Vista and Office at twice the price of a PS3. This is all a marketing campaign of sockpuppets and their ilk.

Forgot to mention you can run that Linux and OpenOffice on your PS3 saving yourself another thousand or so for a second computer. I mean apart from browsing what do most people do on their home computers these days anyway. Who the hell needs a media extended pc when you can do it on the PS3.

Our next second computer will be another PS3. Multimedia consoles are the PC of the future. Why spend $1000 to upgrade PC software that barely gets used in the real world - especially when you have so many alternatives now.

Business is different but in the home the PC is dead for the majority of consumers.

Well, I see those articles. It's a very legitimate complaint, and a very very big part of why WoW does so well for the MMO market, and how Blizzard does so well in general.

I've seen 360's gather dust around here...

PS3's are seen in small bunches and are gone by 5 days...

the Wii is near impossible to find..

and nobody cares about the cheaper versions of the 360 and PS3...
