have you tried RGB vs. Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr ?

also, have you tried a reset of the PS3 while its connected to the Receiver? while its in the stand by position (red light), press and hold the PS3 power button until it beeps twice...this resets the video connection, maybe it just needs to communicate with the Receiver first?

As crackinheadz said a few posts ago, try to cycle the reset video mode, but do it without the composite cables as you did the first time. This way it should communicate over the HDMI only. Only re-posting to attempt to clarify his response.

I guess that is another test i can try.

PS3 -> Receiver -> LCD (instead of projector)

Would let me determine if maybe the projector just doesn't like the output the receiver is giving it .. or if there really is nothing.

Pretty much the only scenario i didn't try. Will lug the LCD down this weekend and try that out.

I have tried resetting the display mode with 1) just HDMI, 2) just composite, and 3) both .. This has not progressed the issue.

When it's hooked HDMI through the receiver. Since my receiver doesn't push sound through HDMI I have to have digital optical hooked for sound. So the sound works flawlessly. As for video I get nothing. No signal. I don't even get a black screen which indicates a signal. I get the Panasonic blue screen which indicates that the projector is not getting an input. My input options flash across the top. It's like there is nothing coming out the pipe from the HDMI on the receiver... so very very odd

7 days and counting with no reply from NAD tech support. gotta love that.

It's a cable issue. Had the exact same problem with my PS3/Onkyo 705. Knowing full well that the Onkyo and my TV can handle 1080p, I ordered a replacement receiver. Same problem. On a whim, I tried every possible combination of my HDMI cables (I also have an Apple TV hooked up) and lo and behold, I got it to work! Oddly enough, there doesn't seem to be wrong with any of my cables. The Apple TV still works fine, outputting to 1080p. I've seen this problem elsewhere online, so I'm wondering if there's just something finicky about certain PS3 models.
