Default Had the opportunity

I was able to watch The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad today.

The PQ had great color, although it is grainy. When considering the age of this old classic I was more than satisfied with the overall picture quality.

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad is a great fantasy adventure, which, in it's time was somewhat of a ground breaker for the special effects we see today.

I bought this for my friend, he really wants it so I thought I'd surprise him with this.

We'll probably watch it when it arrives in the mail.

It is grainy. For the age of the movie it is fine. The colors are vivid.

Could someone else please commit for this member on the PQ and AQ.

They would probably ruin it like they do with almost every other movie they remake.

Please let's not give any remake ideas to Hollywood, they are making enough of them already

The 7th Voyage of Sinbad is perfect just the way it is. Marvelous entertainment. I don't think our younger members understand what is so magical about older movies. I love this one just the way it is. Great Ray Harryhausen special effects. There is no way that a remake could improve over this classic.

7th Voyage along with Jason and the Argonauts are getting screened (in a double billing) at a cinema near me in July. But I noticed they are digital projections - can anyone say how the digital projection compares to 35mm?

The Sony Movie Channel is playing Harryhausen movies all day, topping the day off with all 3 Sinbad movies. I really wish those 3 were in a boxed set. They also played Mysterious Island and The Three World's of Gulliver. Also had a great documentary on him and his work that was pretty new. The Mysterious Island BD is going for $95 new, $89 used. What a bargin!

This is a great disc and a fun movie! I was wary starting it because I found Jason and the Argonauts a little disappointing recently, but I had a lot of fun with this one. Much more fantasy focused and fast-paced, with cool locales and monsters. Great direction too, and that score! Loved this movie.

Image looks good, though like with Jason the special effects shot look much worse than the rest. Great original mono. Have the commentary going now, which is a fun conversational style track like the rest of Harryhausen's. Great disc.

It's a magical movie, and Herrmann's score is wonderful.

I recently found an LP of Herrmann conducting some of his scores, including the main theme for 7th Voyage.

Interestingly, there's also a track from Mysterious Island, which sounds very similar. Whenever it's playing, I have to look at the cover because I think I'm hearing 7th Voyage instead.

MYSTERIOUS ISLAND is getting re-issued by Twilight Time, so you'll have a chance to get it for $30 again.

To each their own, but my favourite is Jason and the Argonauts....by a long shot. I don't like the Sinbad movies much, even though this one is clearly the best of the three.

Jason and the Argonauts is a classic. These are all campy sword and sandal type childhood classics. Heck, even 1961's Thief of Bagdad with Steve Reeves and having to get the blue rose. LOL. I hope at some point TT re-releases The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad and the Eye of The Tiger.

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad............Caroline Munro
Sinbad and the Eye of The Tiger..........Jane Seymour

Scrumptious women!
