I'm watching it tonight for Halloween, the little woman hasn't seen it before.

I rented it from Netflix...no waiting right now. If it is as great on blu as everyone says I'll buy it, my Best Buy has it on the shelf.

On amazon today for 7.99. Any chance they are reworking for the 100 year universal titles?

I'd double dip a remaster for sure, and pay day-one full price if more special features were included.

This is in my top ten favs.

My local Wal-Mart has this on the $7.99 bargain bin.

I've already got the first issue of it. I'm saying I'd buy again if it got a proper remaster.

I think the movie already looks fantastic. The only problem I have with this release is the lack of all of the DVD special features.

Just buy the UK release instead as it has all of the extras. I have the German steelbook myself and it has all of the extras as well.

Yeah, but is the audio commentary edited on the UK Blu like it is on the U.S. release?

I believe so. Generally, director commentaries are not tampered with. I never watch the BD anyway since I have the superior HD DVD transfer on a BD-R.

I already have the US disc, so I don't feel the need to import.

I remember Carpenter's intro ("Here we start, white lettering over black, unusual, because you usually see the Universal logo", or something to this effect) being left off, as well as lines here and there (like Carpenter joking that the actor who played Nauls was worried that "He'd get up there and find out we were all racist"). I have no idea why they'd edit the commentary, and I've listened to the commentary as many times as I've watched the movie, so I know it inside and out. It was kind of a shock when I got the U.S. Blu and discovered it was altered. Good thing I kept the DVD...
