Great, just what we needed, a glitch
I haven't seen the Matrix Revolution Bluray yet but I guess the glitch will be there.

It's not a compression error, it's an error on the master

We're working on it, but it's very low priority because it's not getting repressed until after the holidays and everyone is tied up in holiday mode right now

Thanks for the reply Jeff. Error on the master huh? That means the problem was there before it was even encoded unless you mean on the DLT master. At least it will get looked into at some point

No, I mean the stamping master

The "negative" that the disc is made from. Since the error is not present on the HD DVD and it's the same encode

That's the current hypothesis anyway

Hey Jeff,

I gotcha. Along time ago at a facility I visited, I remember someone referring to the stamper as a father and mother like a hierarchy at the facility. This is another reason why it's so important for all check discs to be actually quality checked before the entire run is made. Too often, actual check disc are spot checked only. I have no idea if Revolutions was or not but it's good that the studio knows about it. It sounds like this issue is more or less in Warners hands and it's a done issue... for now. Thanks again

Will all three Matrix Films, the Matrix, Matrix: Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions be released as single Blu-Ray Discs next year or just the first one?

Ha! I forgot all about that. Yeah, I never replaced my PotC either. I don't mind it really, never noticed it until someone pointed it out. I was going to replace it until Disney asked me to mail out my disc. Too much trouble for me, so I'll stick with the "defect."

I thought I noticed some kind of similar error on one scene of the first Matrix film. When Neo is fighting Morpheus in the sparring program. Near the end of the sparring Neo's punches become blurred and rapid (like Agent Smith's punches in the Subway fight) and on the one shot from the perspective of Morpheus facing Neo, I thought his punch looked all blocked-out. Other people who own this might want to check that scene.

I have tested the UK version on a European PS3 and a US Panasonic BD30.

FWIW, the serial numbers on the inside ring of the Revolutions disc are:

A0100994314-A911
A0100994314-B911

The glitch is still there. Sorry about the previous erroneous info, and thanks to sam89 for pointing it out.

Great news! I'll be picking up the UK set for Christmas!

However, two people here claim that there is a glitch:

Read LordoftheDance's and Jabbitt's comments towards the bottom of the page. Are you sure there is no glitch?

OMG. I couldn't imagine doing that. I must have my movies the way they are meant to be seen.

I have never noticed the pirates glitch or the matrix glitch. Maybe I got lucky and got good copies.

My bad - I was looking at 1:45:56 and not 1:45:46. Sadly, the glitch is still there.

IMO the Studio's should try getting some film fans to view there master prints before making the blu-rays. I am sure there are lots of people that would be happy to see a free film and in return they would check to see that the film master looks and sounds as perfect as it can be.

there would be less errors like this getting out and the studio would not have to Re-print.

as for Matrix on Blu at 99 bucks it's too Expensive for a Catalog title.

This is a physical defect in the stamper, not in the compression or anything else. Manufacturing error

Yeah, but this disc comes from the UK edition, which released in November 24. They had a full month to repress after the glitch reports.
