Because it's Paramount. Bad video/laserdisc/DVD/Blu-Ray art is their specialty!

The TV series (totally unrelated to the movie series, no connection whatsoever) has been released on DVD, 1st season already out, 2nd season coming Feb 10th. No word yet on 3rd and final season. I just finished watching season 1 - they were great stories. I can't rave about picture quality, we are spoiled these days and this probably isn't a stellar transfer. But let's face it, no one watches a 20 year old tv show for the PQ anyway. I'm very happy to have this set in my collection and I'm looking forward to snagging the rest of the series. BTW I wouldn't wait for this on Blu-Ray, my personal opinion is, that's never going to happen.
Thread drift alert...

The second season of Friday the 13th the Series will be released on DVD on February 10th. On the same day, Tales From the Darkside season 1 will be released. I know, to some people this is "crap tv" unworthy of their attention, let alone being released on an obsolete format. However, to some out there, this will be pure spun gold... not for stunning picture and audio, but for memorable stories that can be very enjoyable when you're all alone at home on a Friday night. I know I enjoy them, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I never liked the F13 series. No Jason = no interest.

I did like Tales From The Darkside and I would like to see a release of Monsters as well.

UK blu-rays are famous for having jack for extras. Since most of the blus will sell in the US, im sure theyre saving them for the US release. Id personally LOVE to see a Blu box set like the other 8. So I might hold out on part one.

PS, I had the Warner uncut release of part 1 for my region free player and it was awesome!

Covers for the UK part 2 & 3:

Reminds me of the Saw covers in a not so good way. Bah, i cant make up my mind. They look kinda clean and cool, but they also take away the old nostalgic feel of the FT13th movies.

That's an interesting idea, but makes no sense when the first movie's cover art is in a completely different style.

That is the UK cover art for parts 2 and 3. The cover art you see for the original is the US release.

Yeah, for the UK release of the original Friday, we'll get the weapon Alice kills Jasons mother with.

Those UK covers look even worse than the U.S. cover for the original.

If they're region free I'll definitely pick up the 2nd one. Not sure on the 3rd.

If they don't announce part 2 and 3 here soon at least a coming soon for BLU I will just import them as long as they are region free.

also a side note Friday the 13th will happen not only in FEB but also March!

Those covers are horrible and look like a rip off of the Saw covers and posters.

If Part 3 is not in 3-D, I'll just wait for the eventual US Blu-ray release.

Default Friday the 13th Part 2 and 3, Amazon UK, Are they region free?

I know that part 1 will be getting its release in the U.S in the next couple of months but I noticed tonight that parts 2 and 3 are avaliable for pre-order on amazon.co.uk. Does anyone know if these will be region free.

So...anyone have any real idea if these will be region locked yet? I've only found one site that lists them as Region B and all the others just have the standard Region-2 PAL which doesn't really apply here. Are there any UK online stores that put up back covers?
