United Kingdom Friday the 13th Part 2 & 3 09/02/2009 UK

Just as the states are getting the first one, UK´s getting part 2 & 3.

My guess is that theese versions will no be unrated and will not contain any cool special features. But intresting nontheless.

This means i can actually SEE Jason with a hockeymask, thought that would take longer since MR Hunt said that no more parts are in the works for US, so i´ll hope theese UK editions will atleast bring good PQ and AQ.

And again Paramount will squander the opportunity to make part 3 in 3-D...

Well, since the US DVD of part 3 thats scheduled for Feb is in 3D I would assume this might add this option to the BluRay

I'll believe it when I see it. For now I have to be happy with my crap-quality dub of the old Japanese laserdisc.

Speaking (loosely) of Friday the 13th...

The TV series (totally unrelated to the movie series, no connection whatsoever) has been released on DVD, 1st season already out, 2nd season coming Feb 10th. No word yet on 3rd and final season. I just finished watching season 1 - they were great stories. I can't rave about picture quality, we are spoiled these days and this probably isn't a stellar transfer. But let's face it, no one watches a 20 year old tv show for the PQ anyway. I'm very happy to have this set in my collection and I'm looking forward to snagging the rest of the series. BTW I wouldn't wait for this on Blu-Ray, my personal opinion is, that's never going to happen.

Good old red-blue.

Even if Paramount doesn't have the original master of the 3-D print, they could at least fake the 3-D effect in studio.

Again... I'll believe that part 3 will in 3-D when I see it, but I know Paramount well enough to know that they won't put forth the effort.

Actually, there is some slight connection. The TV series was launched due to the success of the movie series and had the same producer. Initially, they had some ideas about Jason's mask being from the antique store on the show. It never came to pass though. I always thought it might have been neat to see play out, but it's obviously way too late now. They talk about this in the Crystal Lake Memories book about the history of the Friday the 13th franchise.

Everyone knows the only correct way to write a date time is

2008/12/25 10:45AM cuz that's the only way they will sort in both alphabetical and chronological order at the same time.

The upcoming DVD will have 3D. I don't see why the BD won't as well.

I guess we'll see what Paramount does...

The theatrical version that I saw was the polarized 3-D, the same that I saw for Treasure Of The Four Crowns, Amityville 3-D, and Jaws 3-D. I can only imagine that there was a red-blue version as well for the cheaper theaters and drive-ins.

The Japanese LD versions of the same films were all red-blue, so if they decide to do it I imagine the transfer will be from a red-blue print, or it'll be a digital recreation from a standard 2-D print.

Why can't they just use the original art?

What does exactly "deluxe edtion" mean? From what i can read Part 3 won´t have any extras whatsoever. In which way is it then a deluxe edition?

I think Part 3 is supposed to have extras like the others, but details haven't been released yet.
