2 come to mind at the moment. Pan's Labyrinth and No Country For Old Men.

I hated Pan the first (and only) time I watched it and NCFOM pissed me off with the ending. The more I think about the movies though the more I want to re-watch them to see if I'll like them more now that the hype has flown completely away.
SPOILERS:

I must say that I too hated NCFOM because of the ending upon first viewing. But once it hit blu I watched it again, and actually really enjoyed it knowing and understanding why it ended the way it did. I also read the book and that really helped me understand more. Tommy Lee Jones was really the main character and it wasn't about Brolin, it was about his death being the final coffin in the nail of Jones' career as a sheriff. Crime continued to evolve and he just couldn't change enough to stay in the game, it was what made him realize he couldn't do it anymore. Once I understood that I really enjoyed it much more.

exactly! that nails down exactly what i feel about this movie. there are parts i like and parts i don't. i'm really on the fence with the movie and it's the first one in a long time.

the only part I like is the villain. not how he looks after he's become a hulk-like being but before. I actually don't care for the special effects.

Don't waste your time, trust me. If you don't like it so far, the ending will be a real letdown. I watched it once and wished I didn't.

Gone Baby Gone---first half is great, 2nd half seems like the making of documentary and I still can't decide how I feel about the ending
