Default Help me decide what to do

so my ps3 died its a 20gig no wireless original i pulled it apart to get my blu-ray out of it so no warranty sticker.

so i have no player and need one, i was just going to spend 120 on amazon and get a standalone but now i read ps3 will be able to play 3d stuff with update and i think that could be something i would want to do if i can afford the tv.

i really dont want to spend 150 to fix such an old ps3 but 300 for a new one kinda sucks, and would probably have to wait longer to purchase. or i just buy a blu-ray player 120 bucks and worry about 3d later when i hopefully have more money.

what would you guys do?

Unless you are using the PS3 for gaming, I'd get an entry-level player (I lean toward Panasonic or Sony). The 3D situation is very unclear, and an inexpensive player like that could even be useful in a bedroom or elsewhere later if you do upgrade your TV and player to support 3D once both are available.

yeah no gaming on the ps3, that's a good point i could move it to the bedroom later.

i was either looking at

Samsung BD-P1600 or the Panasonic DMP-BD60

Personally, I'd go with the BD60.

The Sony BDP-S360 performs nicely. It sells for $148 at Walmart, most likely cheaper online. Regardless, it cost about the same as the Panasonic BD-60 and doesn't have nearly as many reported issues (like how the BD-60 randomly pauses during playback for some). Both are nice however.
