Yes, the cdp pr cdt 300 is sure the big one...(now you can have one player with a special price if you have buyed the ssp800 --> Classe make a extra 25% discount

I have read from msm (htguide): he say that the cdp/t 300 is not so special??
but i think can replace my Denon3930 without problem and same the ssp800 will work fine.

Yes, at today i have a Sony s300 ONLY for blueray. the Denon 3930 for dvd standard and cd music plus Toshiba HDEX1...
the Sony S550 will be used ONLY for the bluray disc and the Classe for SD and cd music...

Marantz and Denon are from the same brand and I thnk too like BIslander:
Denon 3800BDCI and Marantz BP-8002 are essentially the same player.

But the Marantz have my preferenz....

Yes, small world.

I couldn't resist the 25% discount either. Instead, I bought the CDP-102, which I should receive tomorrow. I decided on the CDP-102 because I use my system for music 80% of the time. If you decide on the CDT-300, I think it should be equal to the Denon 3930.

Since this player is going to be a blu-ray player only, then I would try to find a dealer where you can compare blu-ray playback between the Marantz and the Sony. The only thing you need to compare is video quality. Audio should be identical because your SSP-800 will do all of the audio processing.

Also do you care about BD-Live? The Marantz is not capable of BD-Live, but the Sony is.

Hi garak,

You have the classe 102 buyed? is correct? and you have like in Switzerland saved the 25% of your money well?

The cdp300 is sure more flexible and with the ssp800 will be better from the denon3930...
Different as you I use my system at 80% for movie then for me a player dvd/cd is the better solution....
and with the cdp3/t 300 I have sure music in better quality vs. the denon3930.

The largest difference between a DVD and a CD is how many revolutions per minute are or second they make... (speed as a hard disk 7200rpm.,5400,...)

cd is slower because he has not read data than a DVD ...

For the bd player the BD-live question is sure important but in this moment the software (BluRay with the ability to navigate through the bd live are not many but it is an important point ....
the Marantz and the Denon dont are capalble like you write and this is to another point contra this 2 bd player from $$$$ vs. a Sony or other from a 1/3 price....

garak give a feed back (pm?, this or htguide..)

Style

then this is where a CD player form a better sound

You would take a Buick over a Pontiac?

I have an upgraded Denon DVD 3800 BDCI Blu-ray which I like very much. I also have an upgraded Denon DVD 5910 DVD player.

In its upgraded form, my Denon DVD 3800 will far outperform probably any stock Blu-ray player available.

Dave Schulte of the Upgrade Company (has upgraded both of my Denon players):

http://upgradecompany.com/

will upgrade (replace parts etc.) the Denons, Pioneer Elites, etc. to improve the sound and video of any Blu-ray player if your are interested.
