Dude this is serious, I mean not being able to stop to the point one does not eat or sleep and end up with a condition similar to having a stroke.
Parents should have done something too I think.

it is old school but it's also the most logical thing to do. too many parents are just big <edited> now.

the family in essence is a small tribe and you have to have clear alphas in every tribe who set rules and boundaries

Hee...I took it out myself, I made my post before reading the article, and thought it was another one of those "dang kids spendin too much time playin video games and not enough time with their studies" kind of things. Then read it, and found out that wasn't the case, so I erased it.

Yes, but, Aaron, you're an anomaly if that's the case, I've seen/read some horror stories about kids and their games and thus ignoring school and whatnot.

Well this turned out a lot better than the story about the 15 yr old Canadian boy. His parents said he was addicted to COD4 on his 360 so they took it away from him. The boy then packed his bags, got on his bike and pedalled off. His father watched as he packed, and even suggested he better pack warmer things. They found the boy's body about three weeks later in a tent in the woods not too far from his house.

So that's what happened, I knew they found the body, but didn't hear anything other then the hypothesis that he froze to death.
