Default My new addiction...

Vintage gear....

It started after those Polks I posted about awhile back. Went and hit a few garage sales yesterday and found these old Sansui speakers. The pic is from an eBay auction sitting at 82.50 USD but condition wise they are mint, and look the same as the ones below.

Grand total speakers and amp: 15 bucks. The sound stage and imaging was astounding, the mid range on the Sansui's is so lush it surprised me.

After a little more digging I find one of these Technics SU-8080 Stereo Integrated amps:

Nice CK! Was actually in the middle of starting my own Vintage thread....I have some ideas and would like some opinions.

By the way, I can kick myself for getting rid of my Klipsch Heresy Signature Edition speakers.....

Good luck with your new found interest!

John

Man listen. I can't tell you how many kicks I could give myself for all of the vintage equipment that I gave away over the years. Lots of which I'd like to have back now.

Yeah well i'm addicted to crack but i don't go around bragging about it

I use to have that exact pair of speakers and i still kick my self for getting rid of them 20 years ago. I wish i would have known then what i know now about vintage gear.

About 30 years ago, I owned Sansui separates (amp, tuner, preamp, cassette player), Garrard TT, and German-made Visonik Subwoofer/Satellite speakers. They rocked. They are currently sitting in my mother's storage room somewhere on this planet.

If you are not familiar with these sites, check them out:

Here's a pic of my Pioneer SA-9500II Stereo Integrated Amplifier. I'm seriously thinking about bringing this unit out of storage.

Great links, thanks BD. And yeah that is a great amp, the neighbor I have with all of the audio gear has one very similar if not the same. He refused to part with it lol.

This reminds me of a turntable my brother got at a garage sale ten years ago. The thing is beautiful, in wonderful condition and was state of the art (at some point in the 70's or 80's). He got it for $15 dollars and to this day I'm still jealous
