I believe Dead Space is the more polished game.

While that may be so, personally I felt Dead Space feels like a exercise in futility.

I think at one point the engineer would have given up... thats alot to self endure further more it feels like everything you do accomplishes nothing.

I mean if I was interested in both, I'd reward myself and the developer that got a very polished game out on day 1 rather than hoping a patch would eventually sort everything out.

I'd go Fallout 3 for sure. Although Target will have Dead Space for $30 on Black Friday. Possibly pick that up and then wait for a price drop on Fallout 3 and you can end up with both for ~$60. Either way you'll want to play both of them eventually.

Bought Fallout 3 beat it and sold it in a week. I loved Oblivion this game was just bad and I could not bring myself to play it after i beat it. Rent this game buy the other.

I'm going with Shin on this one...

Dead Space is a far more polished title.

Frankly, with the small, but there, issues with Fallout 3 on the PS3 and the fact that _none of the DLC_ will be available on PS3 I could not justify getting it for console (I got it on my PC and glad I did because the game editor is PC only! Woot!). I'm not even touching on the lack of trophy support which, yes, should not matter from a gameplay perspective, but does matter when you decide which developer deserves your money most for supporting your console.

They are two very different games.

Dead Space is polished and near perfect for what it is. No real bugs that I could find in four complete play throughs (including impossible) and a platinum trophy. EA is supporting it with copious amounts of DLC (about $30 worth I think if you buy it all!). I probably have about 35-45 hours in Dead Space and I'd say I'm about done with it now (beat all modes, have all trophies). I wish it had some kind of online thing or coop thing to give it some more longevity is all.

Fallout 3 is an RPG at heart and is paced as such. It is slower with long, often text driven, conversations. The action can be good and the game is righteously fun; however, it does take a pretty good 'time stamp' each play session to really get immersed well and feel the vibe. I'm already feeling like it's dragging out a little bit at times and I haven't even blown up Megaton yet (but I will... Oh yes, I will). With the recently released DLC details and game editor on other platforms I would seriously consider those options instead of PS3 for this title. BIG TIME. The difference is not small (having played all three versions to an extent at one time or another now) and the DLC looks to add some very interesting and perhaps more action driven content (the last being really nice because it lets you continue playing after completing the main questline in another questline with new side quests).

Plus, $30 for Dead Space is hard to beat. It's so polished and well done it is a steal for that price... Hit target early Friday morning. Use the savings to get some sweet DLC off the PSN for it.

Myself I felt like I wasted money renting dead space it was cool for about 5 hours and then it was like why.. then I felt like I was forcing myself to play.

There is no connection for the player and the character there feels like there is no plot or story just a few baseless objectives that follow the same drum and beat.. Go fix something after fighting threw droods of enemies return to train. Go fix something again return to train. Go fix something return to train. Go fix something return to train. Go fix something return to train.

By the time I got the asteroid I just didn't even want to play anymore and it went back into its box and back to blockbuster.

At least thats my thoughts on it...

Sounds like you missed all the best parts (which come after the roid chapter). It's not until the end you realize 'why' everything seemed that way in the first 6 or so chapters (the game changes it's pacing and direction some after you kill the leviathan). I don't want to give it away but it has to do with the mind and it brings the whole story together (even if you may feel the ending is a tad abrupt... I could have fought that last boss much much longer and been totally satisfied still).

You can play fallout as first person or third person (at least on PC) by moving the camera in and out.

It is an RPG.
