you don't need the manual, just look at the TV itself.

It will look like this:

AHHH everything is fixed. I'M SO HAPPY! I had bought the cable with the DVI and HMDI that did not work. I called sony back and explained what was going on. she had me remove the new wire I got today. and put back in the compent cables. and do some settings on my tv. AND THE BLU-RAY DVD IS CRYSTAL CLEAR. no lines no grain. even the standard dvd's I see a much better difference even the DVD menu's are crystal clear. No I just want to buy some speakers that aren't too expensive!

Glad you figured out something that works for you, although it seems like some sort of Rube Goldberg arrangement that is far more complicated than it needs to be.

Meanwhile, you will need a receiver in addition to speakers. The receiver processes the sound and drives the speakers.

Yes. It's the hub of audio-video systems. You connect all of your components to the receiver. It processes the sound and powers the speakers. It also sends the video to your TV. You cannot simply plug speakers into any of your components.

I just got my X-Files IWTB/FTF box set. and the sound picture quality was amazing. It makes the sound on my tv like stereo. I was shocked!
