I have yet to see anyone...I repeat...anyone...get up and leave the theater to go to the bathroom whenever a trap is visible on the screen. Truth hurts...but asses are in the seats.
It's funny that you say that the scripts are intelligent and then heap praise on the least intelligent part of the films. Perhaps the design of the trap itself is clever and intelligent but the sequences themselves are no different the sequences from one of the numerous Friday the 13th movies where Jason stalks some random victim. The audience is simply waiting to see see whether a random victim lives or dies (and probably hoping for the latter). What's so intelligent about that? Chances are they leave for the bathroom when it gets back to the actual plot (the stuff that should have some intelligence behind it). The idea are people there because they are intelligent horror films is nonsense; it's just another torture porn flick, pure and simple.

I remember reading somewhere that pretty much every horror movie makes money. The fact that there is guaranteed profit is why the studio keeps sh*tting out sequels to this series.

It is probably only worth a rent. I saw Amazon have it for preorder of $29.99. That is way too high for a Lionsgate title and unusally high price for Amazon.

I am a fan of EVERY genre and I know that in EVERY genre there is a bunch of shit.

For horror you have films like: Saw, foreign film remakes, ETC ETC

Comedy: EVERY SINGLE MOVIE FROM THE GUYS THAT BROUGHT YOU SCARY MOVIE, and anything with Dane Cook.

So I dont agree that you should support everything in the horror genre because it gets a bad rep, the horror genre in mainstream used to be solid but it has gone down hill greatly..if you still LOOK you can find films that are actually worth watching.
