Castle Wolfenstein, anyone? =)

It really sounds to me that you would like Fallout 3.

Still a fun demo though.
I agree. I played the demo and thought "oh, this will probably be worth renting". And then Circuit City had a deal where you get a $20 or $25 giftcard for buying the game, and since I was on Thanksgiving break from school, at the time, I drove down and picked it up.

At first I was a bit disappointed that it seemed like it was going to be so short (because I knew ahead of time how many chapters there were, and I seemed to be flying through them), but I've since played the game over many times, so it ended up not even mattering.

Anyway, the point I meant to make is that don't be completely turned off by the demo, if it doesn't seem all that amazin. As Shin-ra said, the actual game really sucks you in, once you start from the beginning..

I've seen a trailer for Fallout 3, but not to familair with it. How is it? Since i have no more debt, i am able to purchase more BLu's and PS3 games now. Hence the reason i never looked into this sooner. I knew if i did, i would spend money i did not have

Do you have a gamestop near your house? If so, go buy a used copy of a game you're interested in and if you don't like it you can return it for a full refund within 7 days. Best way to try a game before you buy it.

My recommendations:
Oblivion
Fallout 3
Resistance 2
Farcry 2
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Best FPS out there in my opinion)

Fallout3 is pretty much real time. You start out as a baby (short lived section) and advance 10 years either as male or female - even choosing your features and hair. You have a brief stint with the fellow inhabitants of your post-nuclear bomb shelter community and then it's off to find dad who vanishes. It's out into the barren wasteland and how you answer things, how you react and act, determines how the game devolops for you. There are a TON of missions, side-missions and little things to learn. READ THE MANUAL!!! You can save anytime, anywhere over and above the auto-saves. The detail is great. The people you come across are cool, both good and bad. Your karma makes a difference and you battle massive freaks, ghould, animals and savage street people as you try and find pop. Third person, very reactive and so many choices that re-play value is extremely high. I love it.

Right now, Fallout 3 is one of my favorite PS3 games.

It really is a lot of fun. In fact, its so much fun I still bought it knowing it may not get any of the DLC. You can practically do anything you want in that game. You can completely go off the deep-end and be the must vile and disgusting human being or be the savior of the wasteland. If you don't like the main story, just go for a walk in any other direction and you'll just fall into a side quest without even trying.

This game is not linear at all i take it. I like games with lots of freedom and options. I may have to look into this Fallout game. thanks for the heads up

Get Fallout 3!!! It is pure awesomeness!!! 1st or 3rd person shooter/RPG with endless hours of playtime as long as you don't just beat the main story line all quick.

Well it can be linear if you want it to be. It has a very straight forward main story line if you choose. Though as much as you can try to fight it, along the way you'll do some side quests as they get assigned to you (if you accept them in the dialouge) as you continue it.

Thats really the beauty of the game, its really whatever you want its yours. If you want to blow up a town with a bomb in it, then by all means you can do so. Oh and there are positive and negative consequences to your actions/dialouge.

This is true... you can indeed switch to first person... I forgot about that. You gat a sniper rifle (Woo!!!), pistols, Auto' rifles, knives, plasma/energy guns, a bazooka that'll shoot whatever you throw in it including metal and teddy bears, you collect the local currency - bottle caps and can boost your barter ability to trade for less, sell and buy if you have enough caps. You can fix weapons, carry a load of stuff before you can barely walk and scan the horizon for enemies before they see you. The game flat out rocks on every level.

I'll have to check it out. I enjoy games that give you the freedom to do whatever you want to (within reason). I am thinking this may be my next purchase? I have a thing against used games, but where is the best place for the best price?

New games typically cost the same everywhere! Unless you want no tax; then try Amazon!
