what pisses me more off than talking is people constantly on the cell phones texting.

And people please read the whole story. We don't know how old the kid was so he could have been young and just talking like any young kid will. But that doesn't give the guy the right to go up to the dad and do that. Leave and tell the damn manager.

Extreme indeed. I simply cannot imagine anything more extreme in truth.

Ah, it's not as if he pulled out a Desert Eagle - then we'd be talking about the fitting punishment this man deserves.

I mean, we all get upset about talking during movies.

Well, considering people talk during a movie when it clearly asks you not to before hand on the SCREEN and it also has to now tell you to TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES is pretty sad.

Then to TALK on top of that, the guy should be thankful he was only shot in the arm. Seriously. STFU at a movie. Nobody should have to remind you to do that. It's called common courtesy.

And I absolutely agree, there is nothing more annoying than people talking during the movie. But shooting someone ? Am I the only one to find this wrong ?
Is murder (or something close to murder as is here) so common that shooting a guy in a cinema is just the thing to do to some annoying movie chatter ?
So you guys just shoot people that lack common courtesy ?
I don't know but we definitely have cultural differences.

People talking, having your seat kicked, kids running around, loud food chewing sounds, yapping on the phone & other common behaviors can be tolerably for a brief moment.

I thought this was part of a movie going experience.

I remember a lady called a theater manager who told this young man to keep his voice down because he was laughing at a funny scene. His laugh was boisterous & seemed like any other laugh but the woman found it annoying. Who'd have thought, huh?

No, it's not part of the experience and should never be. I grew up in a time where you don't do crap like that. I am 28. Not far off from most of the people here. You either behaved when you were a child or you were knocked into the middle of next week. Nowadays, kids are free to behave like asses. Along with the parents raising them and it's acceptable.

No more.

Is that really yours or is it a video about a gun you love/own ?
If you say it's really yours, show us a picture of your NRA membership card please.
(Never seen a NRA membership card for that matter so I'm curious )

Default I politely asked them, "Please do not talk during the movie!!"

http://www.philly.com/philly/hp/news...ing_movie.html

I know it's wrong, but I can't tell you how many times I wanted to just get up and smack someone in the theater for talking.

This is taking it a bit too far.

only a bit

As the article said he had already asked them to stop talking. I have no sympathy for the man that got shot (mainly because he was shot in teh shoulder so there was no intention to kill, and I bet he learned his lesson).

This actually reminds of something Joe Pesci would do in Goodfellas or something. Like he would know hes getting arrested in a few minutes but he would so sit down and continue to watch the movie till then.

Nonetheless, people like this piss me off so much. You ask them NICELY to stop talking and then they get pissed off at you as if they arent doing anything wrong.

Only a coward shoots another person. If you are anything of a man you stand up to that annoying chatter. Worst case scenario your fist ends in his face but you do not shoot a person, not in a civilized country anyways.

I don't have any sympathy for the annoying chatter in a cinema but the shooter is a psycho that belongs in jail or in a psychiatric hospital maybe where he can explain to the on-duty shrink, why he feels so insecure that he needs to carry a gun at a movie theater.

For once, stewie, I'm with you. Don't shoot the guy. I was annoyed by someone who wouldn't shut up during a movie, and I ended up moving to a different seat. Violence won't solve the problem, especially with a lot of witnesses. He didn't like his movie being interrupted by talking, but a gunshot and people screaming and leaving the theater? Which one sounds more annoying for during a movie.

I never said that this was the course of action I would have taken. Merely that I have no sympathy for the guy that got shot.

And the fact that he was only shot in the shoulder clearly shows no intent to kill.

In the darkness of a theater room during a movie projection ? It only shows the annoying chatter was lucky ...
