No. It's been a bit of an issue. First the guy (Mike) ended up not shipping it out until Tuesday. I guess he sent all of the orders he had out that day (around 40 or so?). Then on top of that they sat in UPS' possession for two days and finally went out. My delivery date has been bumped from the 9th to the 12th to the 14th.

Sucks. I blame part of it on the seller and part of it on UPS. As a result I have to wait till after the weekend (and my birthday). I'll update by taking some pics and starting my own thread since I've completely derailed this one once I receive it.

*edit* Update- it's finally out of Vegas and in Illinois now. I expect I'll see it on Tuesday due to the weekend.

This has to be the worst shipping experience I've ever had the luck of dealing with. UPS is pathetic!

Yes they are! And they charge you way too much for what you get!

The positive:

WI, US 01/13/2009 2:34 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN

...looks like I'll have it tomorrow. I tried to call and see if I could pick it up, but it's still being sorted from now till it gets tossed onto a truck for delivery. One more day- guess I'll just wait!

Hope so. It's on the vehicle for delivery to me as of 3:49 am. The weather here is REALLY bad so I hope it comes in good shape. UPS has been a real mess. I'd hate to have to send it back after all of this.

*edit* And... it's delivered! I'm not home yet but I got the notification. I'll try and hook it up tonight and update with my thoughts this evening or tomorrow.

*edit 2* Early thoughts: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=81419 I'll get some pics up and some further impressions of it as I go. Very solid sub!

they might be directional, so double check before installing
for now if you want to use your sub for fun, use like a rca cable and let it rip!

Well now that this is the "Offical" BIC thread, I'll post the one I ended up with

The BIC VK-12
This sub is a beast! I was skeptical at first when at the store listening to it because they had a poor demo setup using a scene from Star Wars. It sounded really muddy and way too much "boom" for everything. Well fast forward two days later, I stop by and decided to pick it up anyways.

I couldn't be any happier, for my room size (bedroom) it is overkill and I have to turn it down but !. First chance I got to crank her up a little was when watching Eleanor and eventually got my parents mad enough to come in and tell me to turn it down even though they were on the other side of the house. They said it felt like a earthquake in there, haha. It compliments my Polk Monitor 50s and a Polk Monitor CS2 very well and was almost as if the sub was made specifically for the theater I have constructed out of my bedroom. So far I haven't maxed out the sub, not sure if I really want to, it is powerful enough as it is turned down. My first experience watching a full movie reminded me of being at the IMAX listening to their surround sound. I cant' compare it to a normal movie theater because IMHO the theater cant touch this sub. It is the way the bass in a movie should sound and re-creates the sound very accurately. I had fun re-watching Wall-e when I hooked it up and loved it when the spaceship took off from earth. It makes you feel like there is actually a spaceship taking off in front of you!

Overall I give this sub a 10/10 for just such pure awesomeness!

Brand new BIC subs on ebay. I don't believe you can find VK-12 for $300.

I saw some up on ebay at one point for around $340. Try searching under H-100 as well- sometimes they're mislabelled as the new H-100.

*edit* Found at least one searching that way: http://shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_dmp...a+12&_osacat=0

Thanks, i found 2 listings myself for the VK-12 priced at $329 with free shipping. How does this subwoofer stack up compared to its competition in that price range? Would i be better off waiting a month and ordering an eD subwoofer?

I don't own it, but I do own the PA-120. The guy who sells these says the VK-12 is slightly better than the PA-120. Supposedly they're both (along with the H-100) manufactured at the same factory.

I do know that I really love that PA-120. I just got done watching Bankok Dangerous. While the movie wasn't that hot, the audio was really good, and the sub really delivered. If the VK-12 is as good as that or better, it may be worth picking up.

I'm gonna shoot myself for saying this, but at that price, you're getting really close to the eD A2-300. If you can handle the dimensions, it's one of the lowest-hitting subs you can get at that price range. They also do the matte finish for free now apparently.

If the eD is too big (as it was for me) and you like the VK-12, I say go for it. DC Street really likes his.

...or get a PA-120 and save yourself $100!

there is a Alpine wholesale store that sells BIC speakers and they sell the VK-12 for $299 as a everyday price and that includes tax
