Nah, this guy got laid off awhile back from Toshiba making 6 figures developing HD-DVD. Now he's writing for GamerTell and eating cat food. I'd be pissed at Blu-Ray too...

Loving the comments on that article. BD bashing is not being tolerated anymore as you can see.

Expect these types of articles to disappear this year.

Same ol' FUD, Blu is going to fail, the numbers fall short, blah blah... DD is the way of the future, which maybe so but when? You only have a small percentage of people with high bandwidth so most of us have to sit and wait and don't forget the fact some ISP's are starting to limit your bandwidth, etc... Just a few things they don't or forget to mention

I've always said if you ain't got nobody hatin' on ya, you ain't doin' somethin' right. I don't worry about the hate anymore, it's usually just a bunch of disgruntled ex-HD DVD worshippers who are, for some odd reason, still pissed their format of choice lost(like HD DVD actually had a chance of winning), or someone who is a Sony hater that can't get their mind around the fact that Blu-ray was developed by more than one CE company, or someone just repeating something they heard somewhere else. So It comes with the territory. For the next few months whenever we read some hate on a blog site, in the comments link them to this http://thedigitalbits.com/#mytwocents

Especially highlight this

Quote:
The DEG announced that Blu-ray software sales grew from $270 million in 2007 to more than $750 million in 2008. Combined DVD and Blu-ray software sales for 2008 totaled more than $22 billion dollars, down slightly from nearly $24 billion last year. The BDA says there are now some 10.7 million Blu-ray playback devices currently in the market, including both PS3 and standalone units, this after just 2.5 years of format availability. By contrast, just 5.4 million DVD capable devices had shipped by the end of the third year of that format's availability. The Year Three U.S. market penetration of Blu-ray is set to reach about 8%, which is impressive given that the Year Three penetration of DVD was just 4.2%. The DEG reported that some 3 million players were shipped in the 4th quarter of 2008 alone.
Wow...a $480 million dollar increase. Okay what format is failing again?

The Blu-ray haterz are getting more desperate, and fewer by the day. CES was just awesome, and only posistive news have been reported. 2009 is the year that Blu-ray takes hold of the Home Entertainment market, and makes significant gains on DVD.

I don't even bother reading these articles anymore. It's the same old same old stating how Blu-ray's gonna die and other repetitive crap. Some people just can't or won't adapt to change.

Let them spew out their ignorant-fueled hate. I'm pretty sure that some VHS fanboys said the same about DVD.

exactly... i remember that as well... people just hate the fact that they own something and it changes and now have to purchase the same shit over again... yes frustrating but the improvement sometime is worth it... and in this case imo it totally is. I love Blu.. screw the jealous and envious idiots that want to blast this format for whatever reason they can come up with.

Blu-ray is here to stay... no doubt about it in my opinion. The PS3 on the other hand? For 2 Christmas's in a row, my teenage kids said they don't want it.

wel they want the piece of $hitbox360 or already have it. most teens are stupid and want the 360 due because of there friends having them. the PS3 is great better than the 360 cause well it offers more which is just one feature. my point is most teens are DUMB or worse

I'm Fed up with not having any Blu-ray players to sell customers at Best Buy, we have been wiped out of all brands (save Insignia) since before christmas.
