So, I take it from your first statement that you haven't seen the original. So, don't knock on it until you've seen either one. That would be appreciated. That way you would at least have a reason for liking it or not.

I actually wasn't knocking on it... I'm just dissapointed with hollywood and there "let's remake every horror film ever" mentality. I only entered the above post because it seems that most people are excited about this film to see nudity in 3-D. Which doesn't really equate good film to me..

I'm excited to see it first for the horror aspect. Secondly, for the 3D aspect. A 3D horror flick sounds cool. I'll wait to see if that statement actually holds up after I see it. Third, for a horror flick to even start at 100% on RT is almost unheard of. I realize it probably won't last for long, but normally, they start off closer to 0%.

Getting Frank Miller's approval helps too.

I don't have a problem with remakes. For example, I enjoyed Snyder's remake of Dawn of the Dead. If done correctly, then I have no problem with them.

I agree. Dawn of the Dead was an anomaly though. For every DOTD, there is Day of the Dead 2: Contagium, The Wizard of Gore, Pulse, The Amityville Horror, etc. etc.

I actually agree with you about the 3-D aspect of it as well. I love horror films from the 70's and long to see a true horror film presented in 3-D. I know I was a little mean spirited with my comments and I recognize that. I just get jaded with these films that come out every 2 months and seem to lack imagination.

After reading a few reviews I probably will check this out, it sounds like the 3-D is done well and it might be fun...

So I apologize for offending anyone with my pissy attitude..

So, some ignorant critic wrote a review for this movie and I'll let it do the talking...But needless to say because of this crap review, the movie is now down to 83%.

"My Bloody Valentine 3-D (18)

Review by Victor Olliver - Watch out, there's a pickaxe about. "Where?" By your left ear, fool! This is a 3-D horror-carnage movie, do get with it.

Could the pickaxe be the property of Harry Warden whose vengeful spirit has returned on the 10th anniversary of his chopping spree of 22 people?

Jensen Ackles plays Tom who caused the accident that angered Harold. Mindless mayhem all the way. Verdict 2/5"

Seriously, what kind of review is this?

Mindless Mayhem, great review imo for a slasher.

Even if they did choose Rotten.

Some of the critics on Rotten Tomatoes are kinda out there. I mean a lot of them are really great, but stuff like this comes out of left field.

i've been saying that for a little over a year now about rotten tomatoes. they suck. of course this looks like a typical horror movie, but still the point stands. rotten tomatoes is whack. their scoring system is stupid.

Why? because they get just random blogger reviews? I have been saying this since I have joined this site...you can just hit top critics and it just gives you the big name ones, and they generally swing with the overall score anyways.

it's not just that. reviews that are generally positive, but have a line or two negativity end up hurting the score and making the review rotten when it wasn't to begin with. same thing happens at metacritic. who scores these reviews anyway? a committee?

I will agree with meta critic, that site does suck. but if you are going to look up reviews what site do you recommend then? Or are you one of those people who believe that movie critics should not be listened to because they push their opinions on others

i think reviewers can be a good thing. if i'm going to look up reviews though i would pick the reviewers that i felt best reflected me and my personal taste and read their reviews. skip the all in one places like rotten tomatoes and find 2 or 3 reviewers you like and just read their reviewers. at least then you know you're not getting something that is watered down and committized to death.

I disagree with that. RT gives the most well rounded group of critics thus getting as many view points as possible. So, you are bound to find your view point in there somwhere. But, overall they are one of the best review sites on the web. You'll always find weird view points anywhere you go.

The problem is, people don't realize why this movie was made. Just like Journey to the center of the erth. It needs to be seen in 3-D

no way is rotten tomatoes the best review site on the web. they suck. nowhere should anyone have a say in a critic's review except for the critic themselves. but the problem with rotten tomatoes is that they review the reviews, chop them up into bite size morsels and score them. often times when they do this they are taking a review out of context and end up scoring it wrong. therefore it's very easy for a positive review to become rotten.

the scoring system flat out stinks. it's way too flawed. rotten tomatoes is basically the same thing as metacritic and that site is atrocious. it's nice that they group all the reviews together, but they should do that and nothing else. sadly they don't. also they get to decide what gets on the website and what doesn't. that hardly seems fair at all.

i just saw the movie...

the kills are AWESOME. HOTT nude chick form head to toe runnign around..wow... wonder what the average girlfriend thinks about that watching that on screen lol

it is a chilly tale and like i said, very edgy and keeps you on your toes and the 3d effect makes it very worthwile...i probably would not have liked it as much if it wasnt in 3d...ill be buying it in blu regardless.

top 5 horror flicks iv seen all time. i give it a 4.5/5
