Go to the Denon web site. They have a list of all authorized dealers.

No, that is not the only difference...just the biggest for me. Trust me, what you think is sufficient today, probably will not be later. Practically all new components utilize HDMI. So you really need more than just two inputs. We all know there is other ways to connect, but HDMI just makes your life easier.

Look at it this way, you hook up your TV service and your BD player to the 2808CI HDMI ports and your done...no more HDMI inputs. You could then add a switcher but why not just keep everything "clean" and get it right the first time and get a receiver with enough inputs

I got it from 6th Avenue. I had my eye on it for a few months and it dropped to around $580.00 so I could not resist. It was a beast to get set up to my liking but I am VERY happy with it.

Thanks guys! ANOTHER contender for my new receiver! I can get an Onkyo 875 refurb for the same price as this Denon new. The Onkyo is 140 watts per channel, 4 HDMI inputs and Burr Brown DAC's. This Denon is 115 WPC, also with 4 HDMI's and Burr Browns. The Onkyo weighs 51 lbs vs 28 lbs for this Denon.... so the onkyo does seem to have a much beefier power supply. Most other features are fairly similar between these two recievers. Which would you guys pick and why?

I can't find it in the specs...... would I be correct in assuming that the Denon also has on screen programming?

Denon, Denon, Denon!!! Denon has always been known for high end. They concentrate most of their resources in the production of AVRs...and the do it quit well...not getting distracted into other ventures.

That is typical internet price fluctuations. While you most always can get a better price on the internet, prices do seem to be volatile.

I don't know about other sites, but you can't jump the gun when it comes to 6th ave. The 2808ci was around $1100.00 at one point and gradually kept going down in price over the period of a few weeks. Like I said before, I had my eye on it for a while and I told myself if goes below $600.00 (that was my budget) I was gonna jump on it. Wait and look for deals.

If you can get it for 25% off of that price, I would consider that a very good deal.

The 2808CI has been discontinued by Denon and is probably the reason why 6th Ave. is pricing it so low to begin with. The discount probably only applies to new Denon AVRs...that's my guess. Call them...ordering by telephone still works.
