Not that I am saying it wasn't Burger King, but 9 times out of 10 it is something you ate from home and not something you bought out. At home people don't always follow safe food handling proceedures. I have never gotten sick from eating out, but I have from eating other things other people have cooked. Plus, there is this horrible stomach flu going around and it could have been that. Anyone else around you get sick?

Last thing I ate was at 9pm Tuesday at home. After that, nothing. Only cans of soda. I only at BK that day and was feeling sick by the time dinner was ready. Then I started puking.

I have never gotten sick from food at home. That is one thing we take seriously. My mom got sick as well and again, the only thing she ate was BK. Nothing else. We had the same thing as well. A Whopper. A whopper of a terrible time that's for sure.

Not a stomach flu. As of right now, other than feeling a little beat - I am perfectly fine. I have had a stomach virus before (at least that's what the doctors told me it was) a month and a half back. Came on really quick. Lasted longer too.

I rarely get sick. Were talking every couple of years and even so, I don't throw up. I have thrown up more in the past 3 months than I have in my whole life (barring my time as a baby ).

I feel for you...had it happen several years ago at a Jack in the Box. Never been back to one since. I also would recommend calling the BBB or whoever in your area is listed for food control to complain. It isn't necessarily about getting something for your sickness, it lets them know that there are issues with a given store and they send inspectors in. The JITB I got sick at apparently had numerous complaints that had been logged and they in the process of sending someone out. Worst was I had to go to a wedding one of the days I had it...thank god for Immodium AD or however it's spelled.

Sorry to hear about that man.

I've had numerous minor food poisoning incidents. In fact I had one a few days ago that got me and my wife, however there was one episode that I'll never forget.

8 years ago I had food poisoning that had me bed ridden for 2 weeks. No exaggeration For most of the time I couldn't even stand for more than 10 seconds before collapsing. What's even scarier is that the doctor didn't have a clue what it could be because I didn't have a high temperature? Any ways I drank alot of fluids, prayed, and eventually I fought it off.

Thanks you all. It is terrible having food poisoning. Something that can easily be prevented. God only knows whether it was not fully cooked meat or some dirty bastard not washing their hands. I prefer not to think about!

Ugh.

No sodas! Drink fluids, lots of water and electrolytes. At least your vomiting and getting rid of the crap in your stomach. In my case I wasn't even vomiting....I should've induced it but you never think about what you should have done until it's over and done with.

I am going to see about getting some juice. Only had soda. My stomach is growling now too so I think it may be safe to eat.

That reminds me of an email I received not too long ago:

Vomiting hamburger is mild.

The worse food poisoning is from getting a hold of some bad sushi. It's like throwing up liquid dead fish. The smell alone invokes more upchucking. And throwing up bad sushi isn't like normal vomiting. It's explosive vomiting. Like the vomit is being expelled out of your body by a rocket engine. With force so great, it breaks capillaries in your esophagus and you spew blood.

Yeah, good times.

I'm assuming you're not a water drinker. Drink gatorade if water is not your thing but I'd drink water as well. Lot's of it. Dehydration is one of the major symptoms of food poisoning because you're vomiting all of the liquids out of your body.

Not a big water drinker. The water has to have some taste to it. I have some bottled water and these nifty single kool aid packs that I dump in and instant kool aid!

Might do that.

First of, I am sorry to hear about the possible food poisoning!
Been there, done that, and it sucks big time!

Most likely happened due to someone not properly washing their hands!

Then I have a similar story... or two about the unsafe handling of fast food.

At a Taco Bell across from our place, it was not mandatory to wear gloves while preparing the food, and you know they touch everything with their fingers, then come and tender the cash, quickly run some water over their hands, kind of wipe it on a cloth that sits next to the food prep area (and is also used to wipe away access food or sauces) and back to preparing the next big bell meal. I've seen it numerous times and we tried to tell them to wear gloves before touching anything that is being prepared, but they either give you dirty looks or act all gumpy. At some point a friend of mine called the local headquarters so often and complained that he will contact BBB and Health Department that it is now mandatory to wear gloves and that they have extra people to run the registers! YAY a win on that, but their food still gives you the runs...

Another story at Jack In The Box-
We went through the drive through, paid and waited for our order, as the person working there, prepared our Oreo Cookie Shake, filled the cup way too much so that when she tried to put on the lid, the contents started to come down the cup all the way around... She took of the lid again, LICKED her fingers that had shake on it and touched the rim of the cup to put it down before trying to fix the same lid on it again!!!
At that point my wife asked for the manager right away, who acted like this was no big deal! We asked for our money back, drove home and called Corporate, after about 15 minutes being send back and forth, we finally got through to someone in charge, who told us that they will be checking up on this (yeah right) and then offered us free meal tickets!!!

Never been back to that place ever since.

That's disgusting.

Anyway, I got food poisoning myself a few years back from this relatively upscale teppanyaki place. When the guy came to our table, the first thing he did was quickly cut off a chunk of butter and toss it into the trash. I wondered what was up with that but paid it no heed as we began our meal.

About halfway through, my friend excuses herself to use the restroom. And then it hits me. I run to the restroom myself, but I run out of time and throw up in the urinal (sorry, custodial staff). And then I get sick for like a week after that with fever. Later on my friend tells me that she really excused herself to go throw up too.

I went back there late last year, though. Seems it's fine now, I guess.
