Haven't compared it with the Acoustic Audio, but I can't see how it wouldn't be at least as good as it. There may be some people that have done so over at AVS- there's a good PA-120 thread there.

As far as setup, I'd recommend starting off with the crossover dial all the way up, gain at 50%, phase at 0, and the LPF of LFE in the receiver at 120hz. When you run the auto-cal you may need to have the sub set to "on" and not "auto" so it'll kick on and be set up properly.

You start with that and you'll have it tuned in no time. You can always go with an SPL meter from there.

Did you see the inside of the sub from the first post? That's what it looks like. eD adding lots of new bracing to the A2-300 right now. It had none inside before. That doesn't mean it was built poorly though.

Aramis, this is the first time I have looked at your thread here, but I am really liking the looks of the sub, it would match my Energys perfectly.... I do want a 2nd sub....hmmmmmm

attention to detail,, i guess..

but the pa120 seems to have more goingon on inside the cabinet than the acoustic audio.

s for the eD sub.. i wouldnt mind paying the extra money for the finished look.. and reliability of the sub...as far as its freq response goes..

im sure they all sound great,, with or without bracing..

after reading all the pages in the avsforum,,, the PA-120 has become more and more atractive...

-detailed finish (pianogloss will match NHT's )
-options on amp,,, along with binding post (not that I would ever need them )
-price
-internal bracing
-reviews,,, all the right words were said

not putting any other sub down,,, heck,,they probably all soundt he same but the PA-120 looks better

ebay purchased made 30 miniutes ago..

i will give a full review of my own.. coparing it to my rca pro-120p sub i currently own.. before and after break in....

CANT WAIT..

I love how it matches my Def Techs. I have two complaints about the build quality- one is the "grill" which as I've mentioned is just grill cloth stretched across. Someone could kick it in if they weren't careful. The other is the relatively short power cord, but I've fixed that with a monoprice extension cable. Otherwise I can recommend the sub without reservation.

Just give me your credit card information and the maximum amount you want to spend on a subwoofer and I will order one for you. Alternatively, give me your wife's email address and I will make sure you will have to sleep on the couch tonight.

naw.... my brain was hurting with my finalchoices beingbetween the AA and PA subs... but the highgloss finish is what truly won me over .... just trying to keep everything matching I took every advice and every review into consideration,,,, ultimately it was appearance that attracted me to the PA....

no sleeping on the couch for me,,,, luckily(unfortunately) I have sleep apnea,, and need my cpap machine to sleep...

Good timing then. I think they (in the past) were sending them out in batches, so either you got in on one of the batches sent or they've changed their shipping methods. Keep us updated!

As far as mine, I picked up a Auralex GRAMMA yesterday and while I think I need to get some more tweaking and testing, I like it. It removed some of the "boom" and reverberation I was getting and seemed to help with a couple bad spots of bass I was having.

Been playing around with it for about a week and I think I finally found the settings I am satisfied with. Even though I have little experience with subwoofers I can certainly say this is not the best subwoofer out there but definitely worth it for the price. Very much a step up from the Onkyo subwoofer I previously had. Highly recommended if your only looking to buy a subwoofer in the $200 range.

Just a heads up, this is a great subwoofer, and definitely a contender at its price bracket.

Thats the great thing about ID companies, they have an advantage over mainstream/commercial subwoofers, giving forums like these to 'test' the waters, and find out, its a steal.

I have heard of a few people talking down the sellers to $200 when buying a second subwoofer or just haggling in general, but currently it's at $229.

Well on Ebay its $229 with free shipping so with Live.com cashback it comes out to a little over $200. I wasn't saying it cost only $200 but if you are looking to only spend around $200 this sub is worth the money.
