Bitstream the lossless codecs, if possible. FLAC support would be great also.

Bitstreaming, IR port for universal and programable remotes, video adjustments for onscreen bluray such as noise reduction, and so on like other high end players

Quick Time VR support Click linky for example of a VR file...
Div5.0 and down profile support.
Ability to create subfolders in folders such as ->3d Renders -> Boolean Operation collection
->3d Renders -> Cup collection

Icrease max picture size that you can send across playstation network from 950 to 1.500 or larger if possible.

-very nice but not needed.. Video chat in game using playstation eye using a picture in a picture type setting.. again not neccesary or needed more of that would be cool...

This is what I voted for. They also need to include volume leveling in every game. Example, custom music in Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is horrible because many of my songs I can barely hear unless I turn the sound fx way down and the music volume all the way up. Wipeout HD implements it much better. It needs to be more consistent across all titles.

This along with cross game chat, full PS2 bc, and more downloadable PS1/PS2 titles are what's most important to me.

'Improve Home' is not a firmware issue, its a separate piece of software. I would like the option to backup to say my PC via a share. That would be good, saves me messing around with external hard drives.

It sickens me to think how much better PSN would be if Sony would have put all that time & resources into it instead of wasting time with Home.

just make the friends list like xbox live

id like to see what my opponent is doing AND what level they are on/qtr they are in.score for whatever game they are playing.

id also like to see FASTER DOWNLOADS as when i download a demo on 360 its done quick.....ps3 takes forever.

and make the xmb bar NOT take up the whole screen, its annoying. i LOVE xbox live setup and ps3 should follow that as the ps3 online seems "thrown together"

So basically you want it to be exactly like the 360? No thank you very much

I would like to take screenshots without the need for a keyboard, lol... I like the ingame music, BC and the voice chat options the most.

I love the XMB the way it is! I think the xbox NXE looks crap.

I think that it would be nice if the XMB was re-structured like an Apple Operating System is. So it would be on the bottom of the screen when you pull it up and wouldn't block everything on the screen.

Also, In-Movie XMB would be great!

I think this is actually possible now, but is dependent on developer. I know NHL 09 keeps this updated (tells if you're in game or idle signed in to ea servers, etc.).

I voted for cross game invites. IN-game music and cprivate voice chat are also high on the list of things I'd want. I would vote for BC if I didn't have an original 80GB

i have to pick ONE choice from all those excellent choices? pshh here's my list.

codec support. codec support. codec support

play music..and do anything else (aside from the obvious..while playing movies/games/etc)

LOTS more ps1 games. seriously..5 a week..come on sony

in game xmb for ps1/ps2

firmware updates that only have the required amount of new data to update. no reason for them to keep getting bigger and bigger

preinstall demos. when i download it..i want it to just work.

more custom soundtracks

auto wireless like the psp. and able to save settings from different locations. i travel with my ps3 a lot..its annoying

Wish we could vote for more than one of them. I ended up voting for "Full software backwards compatibility for PS1 and PS2 games". I don't care about that myself but a friend that I talked into getting a PS3 didn't remember that the version of the PS3 that he got didn't include backward compatibility. So, for Christmas they were looking at getting some sort of dance game for their daughter (Dance, Dance Revolution? maybe) and found that theirs wasn't compatible. I'm giving them an old xbox so they can get it but IMO, they shouldn't have removed that capability in the first place.
