Default Capcom says Dead Rising 2 talk a “mistranslation”

Capcom has told CVG that the earlier Inafune quote from the latest copy of Famitsu regarding a sequel to Dead Rising is a “mistranslation.”

“Dead Rising was a huge success for us and is obviously the kind of game we’d like to continue to make,” said the rep.

“However, at the moment we have made no official announcement regarding a sequel. As the source is Famitsu, I can only suggest that it was a mistranslation.”

I hope if indeed the sequel is gonna go multi-platform. It should come in North America as well and not only in Japan.

Was I the only person who didn't like this game? I thought it was such a great concept, but it was executed so poorly. The single save feature and boring missions ruined what should of been a great zombie killfest.

while those problems sucked, the sequel was so easy. give us a new location, fix the save feature..and bam. instant win

why is it taking so long

The title is kind of misleading.

Capcom didn't say DR2 on PS3 is the mistranslation, they said the announcement of DR2 period is the mistranslation...

Don't know if I'll be able to play another Dead Rising game again after getting Left 4 Dead... Survival and extermination is how a zombie game should be; rescuing morons hiding in a mall is for pussies...

Default Dead Rising 2 Confirmed for Playstation 3

A big fat confirmed:

Quote:
THE DEAD WALK AGAIN AS CAPCOM CONFIRMS DEAD RISINGTM 2
Sequel to 1.5 million-plus seller announced for multiple gaming platforms
London – February 9, 2009 - Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead Rising™ 2 is in development for three different gaming platforms: the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment’s PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) and the PC. The sequel to the 1.5 million-plus selling Dead Rising™, Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom’s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game’s Producer will play an active role in the project.

Released in 2006, Dead Rising won praise across the globe for its mix of intense zombie action and dark humour, garnering numerous awards including IGN’s “Most Innovative Design for Xbox 360”, Gamespot’s “Best Action-Adventure Game” for 2006 and “Action Game of the Year” at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly.

Sounds good; Capcom should port the first one while they're at it.

I'm disappointed Capcom didn't consider Dead Rising 2 to be important enough to keep internal. If they announce Lost Planet 2 an in-house development I'll either laugh or cry.

They could put a port of DR2 on the Blu-ray as an unlockable extra. Well it's not like there won't be enough room for it

I can't wait for the day they put Dead Rising on PS3, on which I think if capcom were smart they would just simply port/or advance the control of the first one over to the ps3 so us fans can get a chance to see what a real system can do for this game up the amount of zombies on screen and let us enjoy alittle zombie mayhem before this one comes out, but if all else fails I will still be playing RE5 until the day this game comes out hahahahah.
