Star Wars. When the Imperial Star Destroyer with Darth Vader onboard is chasing the little ship with Princess Leah on it. When the big ship flys over the screen, seemingly right over your head. One of the best opening scenes ever.

the opening of Lethal Weapon II has always been a favorite, you hear a few notes from the looney tunes cartoons as the WB logo comes up and BAMN! it starts right in the middle of a police chase..always thought that was cool

Not sure why "28 Weeks Later" is getting so much love as I personally think "28 Days Later" has the better opening of the two.

28 Weeks is more brutal and intense.

28 Days is just creepy

Well, what was so great about it before, then? Because you felt healthier/better or because you just liked the way you looked?

I think they're both fairly intense but I personally find the former to be a bit more of a shock to the system than the latter as you were not exactly (at least not me) expecting it.

I had more energy, more motivation to get out of the house and do things, I liked not having baby love handles lol, and used to beast at basketball.

Now I am always tired even after 8 hours of sleep, I have no motivation to do anything, and I SUCK at basketball now.

Default Bond Openings

The opening of From Russia with Love (1963). James Bond walking quietly late at night; looking more tense than usual. Trying to avoid Robert Shaw; was that really Quint? The quiet, the crunching of the sticks, the silent prowl of Grant; this dude means business. The sporadic chords of John Barry's music, the darkness of the frame is overwhelming...prior to the kill. Connery is choked to death!! ...Wait he isn't. It was only a test. Only a task, to prepare for the real thing; what in the??? Cue the Credits...

Beautiful women obstruct the titles. Bouncing navels bend the words. Gyrating arms stretch the names. We know we have fun in store.

Also:

The opening of Goldfinger (1964); I’ll never forget it. That opener set the formula for every Bond film that followed. The duck in the water, the tubed explosives, the brawl and the bathtub; Connery was so cool. "Shocking, positively shocking!". The reflection of the attacker in her eye; one of the great shots in all of Bond, it left me speechless. Connery and the guy struggle and struggle. There’s a grittiness later films lack. Bond throws him across the room. The creep reaches for Bond’s holstered weapon. ..I guess they’ll be no more films?? Bond throws a hair-dryer into the tub. Fried guy, great start. One of the great opening scenes in the series: no one has done it better. Then it went to the titles.

"Goldfinger!!"

Need I say more.
