I know exactly what you are talking about (you try to stop heroes from getting into the castle by setting traps. There was a demo for it on the Playstation Jampack demo disc at one point). There were actually 2 games in that particular trap-setting series. There was another called Koudelka which may or may not have been related. I forget.

no, that doesn't sound like it, infact, i think it was an import...

even if you told me the exact name of it, i woudln't know it, i'd have to see some screeners or video... i'll look around for it...

maybe it was by tecmo, but it is not anythign like the koudelka one.

it's more action and versus based.
it looked kinda like rival schools style, but you run around in a pacman-esque type map setting traps for your opponent(s) and disarming traps before they take you down.

i had the game, but it never worked on my PS1, but it ran beautifully in my PS2, but it was a PS1 game for sure...

btw, i thoroughly enjoyed rival school fighting game too.
